I think it's pretty clear that Sarah Palin doesn't really want to be president. However, she understands how desperately this country needs reform and, if no one else is available who can get the job done, she likely will take off her apron, put down her hunting rifle, dust herself off and run for the office.

One thing is sure. She will have to climb over the GOP establishment before she gets to the White House.

It's very clear to me why . . . . she's the reflection of what they are supposed to be. They look in the mirror and see her looking back at them, asking what happened to their conservative values. Every bill they vote on to expand government and raise taxes, they see her looking back at them, wanting to know when they gave up on America and freedom. Every maxist scheme they approve that reduces the ability of businesses to operate in a free market, she is there, looking back at them asking when they abandoned the free market.

That's why they despise her. They can't stand the pressure of being Democrat lites when they are supposed to be small government conservatives.

The most annoying part is the number of Sarah Palin articles whoe titles start with “Why....” with such an overwhelming abundance of cluelessness on the part of the authors....left AND right.

There is a huge difference between "ejecting" those whom you deem to be RINOs, and saying: "I'm not going to pander to you, but do what I believe to be right. Please join me."

I don't see any sign that Palin wants to eject anyone from the Republican Party. I also don't see much sign is prepared to water down her beliefs to pander to the so called moderates. I like that. The Moderates/RINOs/N.E. Republicans will jump on the bandwagon when we find someone who can drive it well.

Its hard to move forward when you have formed a circular firing squad.

These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Here’s what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they don’t do it to her, she’ll do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."

RINOs are not deemed to be; they are. Everyone on this board can name them; they will not change who they are because we ask thenm to “join us.” They will get elected and then do what they always do.

That is a bit puzzling, isn't it? I have been asking myself that question for many years now. I can't say that I have the correct answer, but I think it has something to do with power. If these liberal Republicans became Democrats, they would not have any power in the Democrat party. And since they think they have a right to rule, they will remain in a party where they have power now.

You are obviously unschooled on how politics works or you're one of the many fake conservatives at FR lately who travel from thread to thread denouncing RINOs and making the case that it's better to lose on principle than win.

It is not "meaningless" having a guy with an (R) behind his name, because as anyone who took Social Studies knows, it's not possible to do ANYTHING without being in the majority and even boobs like Lincoln Chaffey contribute to your majority.

If these liberal Republicans became Democrats, they would not have any power in the Democrat party. And since they think they have a right to rule, they will remain in a party where they have power now.

That whole "power" thing needs to be reset by strict TERM LIMITS, to prevent individuals from enriching themselves to the point of ignoring right and wrong. And they MUST be subject to everything that they subject US to!
