In an almost-predictable move, the Obama administration has begun to mull the possibility of buying up homes nearing foreclosure and then renting the homes back to their current occupants.
In a Reuters story on Tuesday, U.S. government officials were said to be considering the rental option, thereby reducing the number of foreclosures. Of course, such a move would also increase the property holdings of the federal government.
Another possibility reportedly being discussed by Obama officials is to offer extra money--in addition to normal unemployment benefits--to those struggling with their mortgages. The administration didn't comment on whether it would be willing to help those families who currently don't receive unemployment and are also struggling to make ends meet.
In yet another wealth-redistribution answer to a government-created problem, Obama seeks to take from the rich to give to those who should be renting. On the other hand, this does create a potentially bright future for America's favorite slum lord, Obama supporter Tony Rezko. A pardon and then... Property Czar, perhaps?
Control, control, control,....that is all Obama and Co. are about.
How are the 0 projects in Chicago ?

Come on people. How much of this are we going to be able to take as a country??

Buy them with what money? Our money? Screw that!
Now Obama is considering a plan to have Bankruptcy judges determine the market value of a foreclosed house to craft a fair rent that the mortgage company would have to accept for several years from the delinquent homeowner.
There are currently 352 Federal Bankruptcy judgeships. Due to the recession they are all buried with more than the 1,500 cases they can effectively handle, yet Congress has refused to approve any significant increase in judgeships. Instead, Obama wants to give each judge his share of 3.5 million foreclosures (10,000 new cases per judge). Of course, Congress has had several of these bird-brained ideas of using "command and control" via the bankruptcy courts to address the housing implosion and to make it worse.
Remember their fake, propaganda photos from Beirut back in 2006 were intentionally falsified to direct public rage toward Israel.
Reuters = worthless, dangerous scumbags

If your mortgage is underwater, you effectively are a renter, and the bank is your landlord. This recognizes the situation, but unfortunately, means the government will be the direct landlord rather than the indirect landlord it now is through the mortgage holder.
This will work out as badly as most government housing projects do, because the government will not throw out people who don’t pay rent or abuse the property. Whole neighborhoods will go to hell.
This is just yet another step in the Sovietization of the U.S... now if they could only tax all those pesky capitalists into government factory and farm work.
By the end of the Hussein Obama fourth term, the government will own everything from sea to shining sea. Unemployment will be 0.0%. The serfs will all have jobs, thanks to the federal government owning and operating all business and industry.
