Just yesterday Muslims in Indonesia called for a Holy War on China, in response to China's crackdown on the rioting Uighurs. Al-Qaeda thugs have now joined in and are also making threats against China. Go for it guys.....

Interesting to see what would happen if Al-Quaeda tried a 911 type attack on China. I doubt that Beijing would have any problems with dropping a nuke on Mecca....

Maybe our last, best hope is that the Chinese will dot he job the CIA isn't allowed to do.

However, it is more likely that they will do something similar to the Soviets in the Mid-East. One of their people got captured so the KGB grabbed a family member of one of the hostage takers and sent back some of the pieces. Suddenly, Soviets are off the potential hostage list.

Keep in mind the PLA doesn't have to put up with idiotic Rules of Engagement inflicted on our military. They'll have no compunctions about wiping out an apartment building to get the terrorists hiding inside...

And China will bill the terrorist families for the price of the bullets that killed them.

China will not fight a politically correct war. It a shame that our troops are forced to.

500,000 Chinese soldiers in Afghanistan would probably take care of Al-Qaeda for good....

Al-Qaeda may have rattled the wrong cage this time. China has about 20 million or so young restless males that have no chance of finding a mate or any hetrosexual outlet in their own country, so they may be prepared to go on an adventure. Just tell them they can have those Muslim females as their prizes. All they have to do is kill the females’ fathers, brothers, husbands, uncles and any other males in the household, and they then may enjoy the company of these females.

More important than oil, more important than international trade balances, more important than ideology. An idea whose time may be growing ripe....

Why bother with manpower when you can use megatons ... if the ragheads pulled a 9/11 in Beijing, you could pretty much guarantee that the Chinese would nuke the perps.

Interesting, and scary. Better they take on the Islamonazis than us ...

Trust me, Indonesia wants NONE of China’s wrath. There is also another angle at play: If China destroys AQ after the US has failed to do so (weakened severly, yes, which just makes China’s job easier; destroyed, no), they will become the true superpower in the eyes of the world. Bad for AQ, but also bad for the US. That said, the price may be worth it...

Latest from 4 hours ago: telegraph.co.uk: China pleads for understanding as al-Qaeda vows revenge over Uighur deaths:
China has made a plea for understanding from the Islamic world after al-Qaeda threatened revenge for the deaths of 46 Muslim Uighurs in riots in the far Western city of Urumqi.

Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Mahgreb (AQIM) said it would target the 50,000 Chinese workers in Algeria and elsewhere in Northern Africa.

Two extremist web sites affiliated with al-Qaeda also made threats against the large numbers of Chinese people working in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

"Chop off their heads at their workplaces or in their homes to tell them that the time of enslaving Muslims has gone," read one posting.

It is the first time that any al-Qaeda group has threatened China or its interests and illustrates the high price that Beijing may pay for the riots in Urumqi, in which at least 136 Han Chinese and 46 Uighurs died last week.

Beijing's nervousness over its vast interests in Africa and the Middle East was underlined by the Foreign ministry, which rushed to reassure Muslims that China was not oppressing the Uighurs in the desert province of Xinjiang.

"We hope that our Muslim brothers can realise the truth of the July 5 incident in Urumqi. Once they know the truth, they would support our ethnic and religious policies and the measures the Chinese government has taken to deal with the incident," said a spokesman.

The Foreign ministry was also quick to deny a charge of genocide against the Uighurs that has been levelled by Turkey, which, together with Iran, has emerged as one of Beijing's sternest critics over the events of the past week.

"In which country could this be called genocide?" said a spokesman. "In 1949, the population of Uighurs in Xinjiang was 3.29 million, at present the Uighur population there is nearly 10 million, or three times more than 60 years ago. What kind of ethnic genocide is this?" he said.

...

The huge oil and gas reserves in Xinjiang, as well as the web of pipelines that run through the province, funnelling energy from Kazakhstan and Russia all the way to Beijing and Shanghai, make the province vital to China's interests.

However, China's policy of total control has upset Islamic states, especially in the past week. Protesting Muslims in Indonesia called for a jihad against China on Monday, clashing with police outside the Chinese embassy in Jakarta.

China has a few problems:

(1) China exports a lot of crap to the Islamic world. A comprehensive boycott would hurt China's economy.

(2) China depends on the Islamic world for oil supplies

(3) Lots of Chinese nationals work in Islamic countries, and are vulnerable to terrorism there. The Chinese also own assets in the Islamic world.

That said, if China gets into an existential total war with the Islamic world, the Islamists will lose.
