Just yesterday Muslims in Indonesia called for a Holy War on China, in response to China's crackdown on the rioting Uighurs. Al-Qaeda thugs have now joined in and are also making threats against China. Go for it guys.....

The Chinese will try to take out those al Queda elements which threaten their interests, while trying to avoid getting into a “jihad” situation with the whole Islamic world. Whether they will succeed in that is something to watch with lots of popcorn.

I had many discussions with my Chinese hosts while visiting there. China will crush them. There is no political correctness. They understand the “grass roots” nature of Al Quaeda and how it operates. There will be a few show trials and executions. What the world will not see is a ruthless, calculated and cold destruction of "anyone" associated with them. Their supporters will simple cease to have ever existed.

My impression is/was that they have been very patient up until now. They see Islam as a growing irritant. Their patience has limits. When pushed, they will simply flip the switch on their internal security and many "Sunnis" will simply disappear. They will further extend it to other areas of strategic interest. These include oil and minerals. In those nations where China has development projects expect the same. Any foreign outcry will be met with derision inside China. People do not have a clue that Chinese nationalism comes first and the government will have the full support of the people.
