“Unemployment of 11.4% and climbing.”

I understand Salinas’ is over 16%.

Realtytrac has over 59000 foreclosures in Riverside Cty and 49000+ in San Bernadino Cty. Not good.

The funny thing is - the same people who voted in these socialist and are now leaving will infect other parts of America pushing for socialism...

As has been pointed out, California is at time a microcosm of the entire United States. And like the California legislature, the US Congress is caught in the paradigm of the old way of doing business, not the new reality.

The end result will be the same for both, not just the inability to pay for ever growing government, but the inability to pay for much of the existing government.

An analogy is being trapped in a small airtight room, and trying to breathe as fast as you can to get all the oxygen before it is gone.

The only real hope we have is that the Republicans, seeing the Democrats fail horribly with their old ideas, don’t try the old, no longer operable Republican ideas, but instead accept and embrace the new reality.

Los Angeles has a two fold problem. It has the highest population of illegal immigrants and has given them every advantage of citizenship without their paying any taxes, property or income.Until this is addressed their is simply no hope for the once great state of California. The takers outnumber the producers and the state is against the producers every step of the way.

I agree with you 100%. I would like to point out also that if you were to take a poll of people residing in California, you would find that most of them were not native to California. I kid you not, you can talk to 100 people and only one of them was born here.

I have to say, what happened to us can happen to you. (The generic you, not you in particular Semperfiwife).

I see that as just a symptom. For that to happen in the first place, fools had to offer it to them. And the public voted for those fools, repeatedly.

But the fools were not limited to just that. Their foolishness has extended to every corner of the State, and found its expression in spending money like there is no tomorrow.

So the bottom line is not only has the support for illegal aliens have to end, but the support for the vast amount of foolishness as well. And it will not be up to the fools to fix the problems, but up to forces far beyond their control.
