Unreal. With Unemployment at 9.5% Obama Says Stimulus Is Working
Who are you going to believe... Dear Leader or your lying eyes? Barack Obama in his Weekly Address today insisted that the $787 billion record Stimulus boondoggle is working.
This is after he earlier promised that unemployment would not go above 8% if the bill passed. It's currently at 9.5%.
The Hill reported:
President Obama on Saturday defended his $787 billion economic stimulus package as having ended an economic free fall after a week of criticism from both ends of the political spectrum.
Obama used his weekly address to the nation Saturday to say the stimulus in a little more than 100 days had worked as intended, and that without it there would have been tens of thousands of additional layoffs.
He added that the stimulus was not designed to work in four months but over two years, and seemed to ask those listening or viewing the address for patience.
“Crucially, this is a plan that will also accelerate greatly throughout the summer and the fall,” said Obama, who added his administration always knew it would take some time for money to get out the door.
According to recovery.gov, the government web site tracking the stimulus, only $523 million of the $20 billion allocated to the Department of Transportation has been spent so far.
It's hard to figure out where he's getting his information.
Obama will quadruple the US budget deficit his first year in office.

You are taking him out of context. He said the stimulus is working as intended.
The obvious intention is to destroy the economy and create as many government dependents as possible.
During the campaign, Ubama promised 95% of working Americans a tax cut.
When it was pointed out that a large number of American workers don't pay income taxes, Ubama said, "but they pay payroll taxes."
In light of that statement, bear in mind that when a person loses his or her job, he or she no longer has payroll taxes deducted from his or her check. Viola!, a tax cut!
But, at 9.5%, we have a long way to go to reach Ubama's goal of cutting taxes for 95% of working Americans.

If the goal of the stimulus is to make us all slaves of the state, then yeah, I guess it is working—better than even he dared to dream.
This is his baby. For all his life the Race Baiters and Hippy Libs have been telling us that this type of stuff was going to pave mainstreet in gold. Do you think that he would come out and say that what he and all his liberal supporters have been telling us is really a lie.
Remember a Liberal Idea Never Fails, it is always somebody elses fault when it does not work.

Depends on how you define success. If the goal is to reduce GNP and to devalue the dollar by 20% in order to supposedly level the economic playing field around the world, then the ‘stimulus’ is working fine.

Everyday I wake up and say, whew, I’m glad that nitemare is over, wow, it was unbelievable, then, I turn the radio on and find out it’s real and I scream!
The definition of leadership is changed forever.
What’s really unreal is the numbers of people who believe anything he says—despite what happening all around them.
Gotta remember, there’s always the ultimate fall back excuse of “it’s Bush’s fault”.
In any case, if anyone expects reality and logic to prevail any time in the near and distant future he/she is doomed to disappointment. America’s public schools have dumbed down and propagandized students for over 40 years. The so-called adults they become are incapable of critical thought. All they know is that everything is about them and their petty little “needs”.
We need to post the monthly figures for the Misery Index which Jimmy Carter “popularized” in 1975 and 1976 and then proceeded to drive into the Stratosphere. I would suggest we being with 1990 and move it forward to today.
