And Mamie Eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary.

I just think this heaps discredit upon the source, and many of us for buying their cheap propaganda.

There is a lot of ugliness towards the present First Lady, and I find it both misdirected attention to the irrelevant (as all “First Lady”ies are essentially irrelevant) and ungentlemanly - and only relevant in that it makes us look ungentlemanly.
