13 Democrats Vote With GOP to Bar Illegals From Receiving Federal Job Money; Amnesty Dead?
Patriot Room ^ | July 8, 2009 | Bill Dupray

12 Democrats and 1 Independent defied Party leadership and voted with all 40 Republicans to:

* permanently authorize E-Verify, so the pro-amnesty forces can't constantly threaten to kill it if they don't get their way

* require all federal contractors to use E-Verify so returning veterans and other unemployed Americans will get jobs created with federal tax money.

We had democrats on our side in the last amnesty fight. Even Debbie Stabenow voted no that time and things haven’t exactly gotten better since.

Hopefully, this is the first sign of the ‘Rat Congress “Carterizing” Obama. Ole Jimmah was defeated at every turn by his own party and challenged for a second term by Ted Kennedy. May the same be happening now to the Kenyan? We can hope.

Better news. I wonder if some in Wash DC might be getting a little concerned. 2010 elections and a furious populace - at least the populace who pay taxes not the ghouls who fawn over M Jackson pedophile.

Suprised Juan McCain and sassy Miss Lindsay Graham-nesty did not vote to try to help the illegals steal our tax money.

A lot of people do not remember that. The Dems jumped ship fast on jimmy Carter. They knew somebody was going to get blamed and they did not want to be the ones who took the blame.

This is what we need to prevent amnesty from going through. If it becomes just a partisan fight then we will lose. The Open Borders Republicans will team up with Obama against us.

The same thing happened to FDR. The conservative southern Democrats opposed him and defeated some of his New Deal programs. Fleming’s “The New Dealer’s War” describes it well.

Here they are:

* Kent Conrad (D-N.D.)

* Bryan Dorgan (D-N.D.)

* Mary Landrieu (D-La.)

* Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.)

* Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.)

* Mark Pryor (D-Ark.)

* John Rockefeller (D-W.Va.)

* Max Baucus (D-Mont.)

* Kay Hagan (D-N.C.)

* Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)

* Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.)

* Ben Nelson (D-Neb.)

* John Tester (D-Mont.)

I’d suggest if you’re reading this thread, take 10 minutes to email each of these Senators and thank them. They defied party leadership, something not taken lightly.

Although the present squatter soiling the Whitehouse wants something that the voters, or enough of them, do not want and lets their elected thief know just what their feeling are there is NO party loyalties when it comes to be re-elected and they will turn on him in a second. He has a maximum term limit whereas their is open ended so guess who wins.

Good idea. Yes, we should thank these Senators. I am surprised Lieberman is on the list. Previously he was all for illegals. I hope he came to his senses.

This should have been a no brainer, the surprise is how far Left we've gone that this vote seems unusual.

Question: What will happen in the House?

This hasn’t passed there yet, if I’m not mistaken.

Bryan Dorgan/N.D. and Blanche Lincoln/Ark are the only ones up for re-election in 2010. I have no reason to think that either one of them voted this way for any other reason than pure belief (as opposed to “jus’ gettin’ elected)but had to check any way. Each of their fellow Dem Senators from their state voted the same way.
That’s good.
