Obama said "oops" on 6 state senate votes

Barack Obama angered fellow Democrats in the Illinois Senate when he voted to strip millions of dollars from a child welfare office on Chicago's West Side. But Obama had a ready explanation: He goofed.

"I was not aware that I had voted no," he said that day in June 2002, asking that the record be changed to reflect that he "intended to vote yes."

That was not the only misfire for the former civil rights attorney first elected to the state Senate in 1996. During his eight years in state office, Obama cast more than 4,000 votes. Of those, according to transcripts of the proceedings in Springfield, he hit the wrong button at least six times.

I know the story is from last year, but, let's see...6 times out of 4,000...hit WRONG BUTTON...hmmm, only a 0.15% chance of Barry hitting the nuke button while trying to order lobster!!! Where's that picture of Slim Pickens riding the happy pelican down to ground zero?

Hey, no problem Obama.

Lots of Americans have no clue what they’re doing when they vote anymore.

That’s why you’re President.

The only remedy for this is resignation. If he can’t resign from the job he screwed up in 2002, he can resign from whatever it is he does these days.

There's an explanation; he was on the phone at the time trying to record the correct vote.

It isn’t a “button” it is a “football”. ;)

Do people really think that somewhere in the White House there is a big red button with “NUKE” written on it that someone might press?

Should’ve put the </S> tag on that comment. Sorry. Just joking. I know there’s no “button” that you can hit accidentally. Trying to use Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals regarding ridicule, that’s all.

The term “nuclear button” has entered the lexicon so much that I am quite sure many people DO actually think there is, somewhere in the White House, a “Nuke” button.

But I am less concerned over 0bama’s mistaken votes as his “Present” votes; especially as he KEEPS TRYING TO VOTE PRESENT (on Iran, on Israel, on Honduras, etc). While a mistaken “vote” for 0bama would usually mean (for me) that he actually made the correct choice inadvertently. ;)

I agree on him voting “present” on Iran, but I think he is voting “NO” on Israel, and “YES” on keeping that constitution-defying president in power.

Barry bin hitin’ dat pipe for a long time, I think. Hence his inability to speak coherently without a teleprompter, or his continued “um, ah, ah,...” as his brain searches for files.

Over 130 times according to Factcheck, which is not a reliable source. So at least 130 times he either: 1) Had no opinion, 2) Had an opinion but voted “present” anyway, 3)Had or had not any opinion but didn’t get his marching orders from Senate President Emil Jones, so he didn’t know which way to vote.

Any way you look at it, it shows either incompetence or subjugation. Not a good sign.

Can we give all the people who voted for Obama a chance to change their vote? At this point, I think alot of them would. I know of several personally.
