The jokes of David Letterman and the article in Vanity Fair perhaps were the straw that broke the camels back but it is the total lack of fairness the media showed that is a scathing indictment against them. If the country had a media czar it would seem appropriate that at this point he or she would be offering a public apology to Palin and that very humbly. Perhaps the czar could hang his head in shame as the proxy for the entire band of media thugs who reveled in the indignities.
We have a media that thinks the story of the congressional race where the candidate has been known to dawn diapers in comedy skits is real news and the photo snaps of the President on the beach is titillation for the rest of us. Who are these heavily biased lug nuts and what have they done to the once respected field known as journalism?
Letterman’s so called apology was no apology at all. If you read his complete body language, he was completely insincere and unapologetic.
I’d like to see her the head of a new third party called THE TEA PARTY, ready to take back America to its conservative roots and values.
I disagree with your second track of thought. It’s one thing to attack a public servant and their family. It’s totally a different thing to attack a private citizen. She has her finger on the trigger now and she should pull it starting with the Huffington Post and Huff writer Shannyn Moore.
This is explicitly what she said. Her detractors make up all imagined straw man arguments to gain some credibility. They have none. If Sarah never runs for office again she will remain one of the strongest and most courageous voices for traditional American values in our nation. She is, however, a brilliant tactician, not to be counted out by the weird brained leftists among us.
Why should Sarah have to re-invent the wheel? She can just rally conservative Republicans and like minded Independents and Democrats. It's been done before; it can be done again.
Your reality maybe. Not mine. Go away!!!
Isn’t it our fault? Some dim dem makes bogus and crazy accusations and we all agree that political damage has been done. Pure B.S. We need to start fighting back or at least ignoring the falderal.
Oh, baloney. The media has been just as scathing on many politicians on the left and right. Crying “unfair” only gets sympathy from that politician’s strong supporters. Everyone else just thinks they should stay out of politics if they can’t take it. Any president, for example, has to withstand much more scrutiny and scathing criticism than Palin has endured. She makes it very clear she isn’t anywhere near up to the national stage, or maybe even the state stage. Sure, the media is mean. Always have been and always will be. Get a thicker skin. I supported her in the beginning but she started looking like a train wreck long ago. The media will always pile on a train wreck.
Baloney. Palin has been attacked far more viciously, and from both the leftists and the moderates. 0bama, for one, couldn’t have stood up to what she’s endured.
Wrong assessment. Palin took off the gloves and is going to go bare knuckles for conservatism.
I think her strategy is not going to "attack" or "take out" people. I think it's going to remind the public that sane, decent people don't bully others and call people names. When a bully like Letterman acts like a bully, you call him out on it. There's no need to get vengeance or retribution. But standing up to those who would bully you and your loved ones strikes a chord in everyone who has ever been pushed around.
If she were to continue to be the governor of Alaska, the host of a radio talk show, or a dog catcher in Wasilla the left will still attack her because shes' dangerous. She's not ambition, but the cause and the cause is conservatism.
Fox News Sunday:
Juan Williams talking about Sarah Palin with ‘no experience’ as I compared her to Obama with NO EXPERIENCE. Juan is an IDIOT!
Governor of Alaska vs. Community Organizer
No bias in the media, remember?!
How many months was Obama in the Senate before he started running for President? How many votes did he cast (not including ‘Present’)?
No double standards in the media, remember?!
I think we need to explain to Republicans how to defeat bullies. You don’t ignore them, you don’t let them run wild without fighting back. You get in their face and you challenge them.
Bully is another word for COWARD. They aren’t going to be around long if you kick their *ss! Once they start something, we finish it! They are nothing but nasty, vile COWARDS!
Yes but it seems to me there are too many RINOs in the Republican Party today, too many who would sell conservatism down the river for more power and more money. Before anything like you suggest can happen, we must eliminate all the RINOs from the party.

That is what I have been saying all this time. You get in the libtards face and you stay there and you use coherence of thought and ideas to defeat theirs (a simple task for any true conservative). Look to folks like Rush Limbaugh and William F. Buckley to show the way. That is how you defeat liberal radicalism and extremism.
The Democrats have grown because, other than with their national candidates, they don't require political purity to be in the Party, and as a result, don't discount the votes of folks who might only marginally support them; in fact they work hard to get those votes.
Instead of trashing those who don't accept every facet of conservatism, why not encourage them, and ask for their votes every time? If we continue to diss folks, we can just accept a permanent minority status. Now some may think that would be just fine, because that means we're not compromising, but it wouldn't matter anyway, because we wouldn't be in any position to offer a compromise, anyway. We'd just be continually marginalized and on the outside looking in.
I respect your opinion but isn’t this kind of triangulation of trying to please everybody and anybody the same thing that has lost us elections especially recent ones?
There may be some folks who don't agree with everything, but might be willing to entertain the notion of voting for Republicans. But if all they see is angry, nasty conservatives decrying everyone but the pure, they'll either go elsewhere with their votes, or they won't vote at all. Neither of those choices will help Republicans or conservatives. We don't have to change our stances on the issues, just the way we present ourselves when arguing those issues.
As my Mama always said, "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
