Because I posted the news diggs so late for yesterday, tonight's list is going to be relatively short. And we're going to take a holiday for the 4th of July weekend, so this will be your last digg list until Monday. Happy independence day, and God bless those who fight to keep this country safe and free! http://diggsandburies.blogspot.com/

I don’t digg.
I FReep.
Send all your digg friends over here with their credit cards.
Feel free to explain......
I don’t see the value in forfeiting the world’s largest and most influential social bookmarking service just because “you don’t digg.” We’re all reading these news articles and watching these videos anyway, we might as well invest 3 seconds of our time to click the “digg” button to help spread the influence of conservative thought.
“It’s only so good it pass the message around to fellow conservatives on FR.”
Typical of facebook, myspace, twitter and digg.
Huh??
Twitter isn’t “technology”.
And, it’s obvious that “Conseratives” can’t spell.
They would rather just blast out 140 strokes, no matter how “differeny” they are.
Tweets ain’t the future.
“All that matter is the adoption rate. There are million of Iranians who think Twitter is a viable technology and US State Dept. even asked Twitter to delay maintenance to assist them in coordination.”
“Twitter is more that Shaq saying he took a crap or ate a chicken sandwich. This is what I’m talking about.”
I rest my case.
Why on earth would we forfeit any social network to the left? That’s asinine. There are more liberal YouTubers, that doesn’t mean we should avoid making online videos. There are more liberal people on facebook, that doesn’t mean Conservatives shouldn’t make facebook accounts. Good lord... what if there are more liberals with cell phones? Should I throw away my cell?!
It’s nonsensical to suggest that Conservatives should limit there internet efforts to this one site. Not only is it nonsensical, it’s counterproductive - it’s a virtual gift to the left to say, “Don’t worry about it guys! We concede 90% of social media reach to you because we’re going to group up on this one site over here that only a vast minority of online users will ever see.” Ridiculous.
People need to learn that the internet is more than finding a site you like and sticking to it. It’s also useful for more than just draining money out of people, by the way.
From a PR perspective, social media is the best possible means for getting more exposure for your content. Why on earth would we not want to get as many eyeballs as possible on great conservative news articles and videos? Digg is the largest and most visited social bookmarking service on the internet. It’s foolish to let the Left capitalize on its benefits while isolating ourselves to this one microcosm. That is not how influence is spread.
If Rupert Murdoch followed your logic, there would be no Fox News Channel.
Minus_The_Bear was absolutely right. A big reason Obama got elected was because he organized and enacted a vast social network on several planes (to include his own website, youtube, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.) as a means for spreading his message. He was able to spread his information faster and more efficiently than the McCain camp. That has real, tangible value. Exposure has value. Millions of PR professionals around the world get paid to do exactly this - increase exposure.
No matter how you slice it - if people on this site want real change - to really help the Conservative cause, they’re going to have to venture beyond the walls of FR. That’s not to say that people shouldn’t value FR, because it also has it’s uses and value. I’m here aren’t I? But it’s just folly to suggest that other, much larger social media should be ignored simply because liberals have a strong presence there.
The majority of Americans voted for Obama in this last election. Does that mean you’ll be leaving the country now? Or does that mean you fight to win your country back? The narrow-minded idea that social media isn’t important is inherently false. It was proven wrong in the last election, and I for one am not going to stand by and watch Conservatives shut themselves out from the very tools necessary for this movement’s success.
Have a goodnight and a great 4th of July!
God Bless America!
Seth,
You proved your point early on. Now, you are merely beating a dead horse. “ButThreeLeftsDo” is either content to “preach to the choir” -or- is too fragile to admit when he is wrong -or- has learned far too much from the left and just argues for the sake of arguing -or- some combination of all three...
The political right is stagnating and has been stagnating for some time. Does anyone need any further proof of this than our country’s 50/50 political split and a wholly inexperienced carnival barker in the White House? The left still has the loudest voice on the internet, in the MSM and in the schools. The *only* medium the right dominates in is AM radio and we have a single person (Rush) to thank for that. We ignore the communication disadvantage at our own peril.
Given the right’s current political position, you would think we would be *aggressively* availing ourselves of any and all avenues of communication. The alternative will always, eventually, leave us like “ButThreeLeftsDo”: curmudgeons carping in an echo chamber. Which is (to put it nicely) more than a bit short-sighted...
And to be perfectly clear, I think FR is a great portal for the right. It ranks in the top five daily reads for me personally. Further down my list of daily reads you will find Digg, Facebook and other social networking type sites. I find that there are plenty of folks participating on those sites who are open to conservative points of view.
I think that is what Seth was alluding to — those non-hardcore lefties, centrists and soft conservatives who can be engaged in a thread without triggering a knee-jerk response or frothing at the mouth. I think those maturing young minds can breed conservative viewpoints, but they need to be primed by rational conservative conversations and arguments.
Those are the folks we need to recognize. We should spread the good word about conservative ideals often, far and wide. I fear that if we don’t, then we should expect a future full of more 0bamanations.
