Here is video of GOP Strategist Ed Rollins giving his assessment of Gov. Sarah Palin's decision to resign as Governor of Alaska. Rollins calls the timing of her resignation announcement "suspicious," referring to it coming on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend, and because she is not finishing out her term. He does not believe this is any way to start a campaign for President. (Watch Video)

She couldn’t afford to stay in office, she is not a wealthy politician, they are a working family and since last November she is $500K in debt thanks to the ankle biters up in Alaska who, BTW, are linked to Obama and keep bringing petty ethics charges against her... not to mention this was taking up a lot of state time and state money which, like every state, is tight these days. Add to that the relentlessness in going after her children and then people criticizing HER when she defended her cubs and no wonder she told them she was through... a man would never have been treated like her, especially if he was a democrat.

Ed Rollins is a turncoat. He jumped ship from the George H.W. Bush campaign in ‘92 to work for Ross Perot. His wife was still working for Bush and didn’t tell her until the last minute what he was doing, and she had to leave her job. I think they divorced a few years later.

Mark Levin was saying how Bush 43 did the same thing, got re-elected, and halfway through his term quit and ran for President,

Nope not accurate......... President Bush was elected governor of Texas, served one term and was elected for a 2nd term. He ran for President and was elected in Nov. 2000 and resigned his governorship on Dec. 21, 2000 and sworn in as President on Jan. 20, 2001.

He didn’t leave his governorship of Texas after 2 1/2 years as Palin is doing in AK.

Oh, man. I hope they are okay. They can come live with us if need be. :) She will make a lot of money giving speeches and on her book in the near future.

Sarah forgot to put a bankster in her back pocket - unlike “my friend” McCain.

I happen to agree with both calex and Cuda. Palin was straight up, or as straight up as she could be within the bounds of political wisdom. She will run for President, and she will do so in 2012. To stay in Alaska as Governor would be preferable, but it would not have been wise. The other party was abusing the ethics process to make her term ungovernable. No one is going to waste time filing ethics charges against Sean Parnell. Now she is free to go after Obama like a junkyard dog. That is what I believe she will do, and I suspect it will come at a time and place of her choosing. Best, Chris

It’s terrible what the Left and McCain backstabbers have done to her and her beautiful children. They never took on Todd, did they... Todd for President! Just kidding. Wouldn’t it be nice to look into those blue eyes on the teevee for four years. ;)

What's the difference?

Bush did not finish the second term as governor, as he was elected to do. He broke his apparently sacred bond to the people of Texas. The fact that he did one complete term is irrelevant. Each new election is a new pact, which Bush, like Obama, and Palin, did not see through to the end.

Now, I'm having some fun with this, but you see my point. She's not doing anything that other successful Presidents haven't.

I didn’t say he didn’t resign. My comment to the poster was that her statement was inaccurate which it was. President Bush, then governor, didn’t resign to run for President as she stated that Levin said. He ran for President while he was governor, was elected and then resigned a month before he was sworn in as President.

Here's what to say to anyone who cuts Sarah down.

"You know, sir/madam your setiments about Palin are
EXACTLY how I and so many of my friends feel about
Obama, the most unqualified person to ever serve as
our President."

Wasn’t Rollins Generalissimo Peerot’s campaign manager?

Rollins’ ‘analysis’ sounds like it comes right out of the Democrat playbook.

I can’t believe the ignorant comments I have heard since Palin’s announcement. It is totally amazing.

Ed Rollins is a joke. The talking heads are jokes. She doesn’t owe anyone an explanation for anything she does. These same naysayers and pontificating bozos would be the first ones in line to discredit her no matter what she did...

I just love stupid people...run over them Sara...and God Bless Ya.

Obama didn’t finish HIS first term as senator — heck he seldom even showed up for work before he was officially running for POTUS and then he got paid for two years to do nothing but campaign... McCain, too, spent our money on the road campaigning instead of the job we were paying him to do. I respect Palin for her comment that she was not going to be a governor who said I’m not going to run again and then spends the rest of her time, and takes a paycheck, to travel all over the place on the taxpayers dime — to quote her “I’m not wired that way.” Governor Palin is a very conservative and very frugal politician.
