Here is video of GOP Strategist Ed Rollins giving his assessment of Gov. Sarah Palin's decision to resign as Governor of Alaska. Rollins calls the timing of her resignation announcement "suspicious," referring to it coming on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend, and because she is not finishing out her term. He does not believe this is any way to start a campaign for President. (Watch Video)

In other words...

“They didn’t put me on the payroll and ask for my opinion”

Rollins had his day, but it’s the next day after Morning in America.

Prediction, and if I’m wrong, I’m wrong: Somebody’s going to a Tea Party tomorrow, if she wasn’t already.

Ed Rollins is the most over rated political strategist in history.

Seems pretty obvious to me — she needs to have the ankle biting about her tenure as governor behind her long enough for her to have put paid to all of them in court. Also as non governor she now has the free time to stump all over the country. She was a dangerous wild card before, now she has become Godzilla. 2012 we can’t wait.

I agree it’s pretty unusual. I think we will just have to wait and see. I don’t think it will help if she has pres. ambitions.

These Beltway and party types just don’t get it. Governor Palin transcends party lines. She drew a crowd of 29K in New York state. Blue as Hell, New York state. She made it clear in her statement, she will speak for any candidate with the right values.
We may be witnessing the birth of the new 3rd party.

I believe Sarah is quitting politics- at least in the sense of running for office.

There all pissed off that she became governor in November 2006 and finished everything she needed to do in less than 3 years. They are all in a tizzy. You would have thought she announced she was running for President the way they are going crazy over this. Most governors should buckle down and get things done in 2 years...our nation would be better!!!!! I like her more today than yesterday!!!!

Now that your agenda has been revealed, Rollins, how will you feel when it has no effect on anything, and nobody even notices?

Her petty detractors have been trying to get her in a recursive legal pickle, first by alleging improprieties, then by alleging the impropriety of fund raising while governor to defend herself from these allegations. And if she pushes said fund raising another step, so will said petty detractors, ad infinitum. Whatever the absolute legal truth of these attempts (and I wholeheartedly believe they are baloney) they constitute a powerful source of dirt for her detractors. Now she can shake that off.

She will do well to remind what’s left of the GOP of its meaning and roots. That “we are from the government and we are here to help” is the stuff of nightmares, not utopias. Whether she makes a personal bid or not will ultimately depend on circumstances.

She just told the Todd Purdums, Ed Rollins and Charles Krauthammers of the world to stick it where the sun don’t shine. Sadly they are too DC stupid to understand that.
