Sarah Palin Resigning - Updated

Quick post while at work….Sarah Palin is resigning as Governor.

Guess that’s it for her.

UPDATE

Todd to FNC: Sarah to concentrate on doing things for Alaska and the country she can’t do as governor.”

UPDATE

She brings up the slams against Trig as being a reason her kids wanted her to do something. “It’s been in the works for awhile.” Said that her trips to visit the troops was a factor.

Nice finish. “Don’t explain - your friends don’t need it, and your enemies won’t believe it anyway.”

Not sure I get it. She could be planning to spend 2010 campaigning for true conservatives for 2010, forcing the party back to its roots and then onto 2012. Or she could be tired of the lawsuits and crap she takes from the media and the left.

Confused.

She said her decision was “fortified” after visiting the troops. The gloves are coming off. No more “ethics” bullsh*t from the buffoons down at Juneau.

Wish she’d stay. If she runs for re-election & wins, she retains the title of Governor which is prestigious should she still want to go after the presidential election in 2012.

Her adress leaves no doubt. She will stay in politics on a different front. I think she’ll rally the grassroots and raise funds and support for candidates in 2010. She’ll be kingmaker and by 2012 ready for the big move against the abomination.

However this turns out, Sarah has been a wonderful breath of fresh air. I thank God for her and wish her well.

“I look forward to helping others – to fight for our state and our country, and campaign for those who believe in smaller government, free enterprise, strong national security, support for our troops, and energy independence.”

Building a base of support for 2012.

As I think about this, I would characterize Sarah as one of the few politicians who is not in it for power, but because she likes leading and helping people and making things better.

If she couldn’t see her way clear to doing that, she might just decide to step down.

On the other hand, if the whole country goes to hell in a handbasket and turns to her for help, she might come back in again. But she doesn’t need power for personal satisfaction.

I haven’t heard a good explanation of motivation or timing yet. All I know is there are a lot of good people disappointed, and a lot scurvy RATs celebrating and, yes....still in attack mode. Azzholes.

Patience is not a virtue of mine. I’m pretty bummed right now, and would like to know the rest of the story. Best to all the Palin family.

I’m not saying you are wrong, but you have to admit it’s a gutsy executive decision. She may spiral in as a presidential candidate because of this, but sometimes going against the flow has its dividends too.

I don’t mind her not running for another term - she could do a lot more good helping conservative candidates, but why not finish out her term - something must be wrong. Am I losing my entire tagline??

I thought she was just not going to seek another term.

Resigning effective July 26? I’m stunned.
