The controversial climate bill that is set to be taken up by the Senate on Monday after its passage in the House will legislate home inspections by government regulators who will demand to audit every aspect of your property under the threat of substantial and repeated fines if their visits are denied or their demands not satisfied.
The climate legislation is written in a manner that automatically assumes that global warming is taking place and that it is attributed to rising CO2 levels, despite the fact that this is a highly contentious question and is being rejected by more and more scientists as time goes by.
As Tony Pacheco writes in his excellent article today, the bill will "audit every aspect of your home and life".

This section of Cap and Trade is not getting any national press. Mainly, I believe, they haven’t read it. The politicians don’t care, as they get porkulus in return for signing it. I say follow the money on these home inspections, to see who is behind this. It could really depress the market. If a person has no money to comply, and needs to sell a home, what happens??? Foreclosure???
>> You mean the all-or-nothing, “I’d rather see Obama than McCain”, short-sighted, cut-off-nose-despite-face ‘conservatives’?
Pull your head out of your ass. That’s not what tanked McCain.
MCCAIN tanked McCain. McCain had neither the skill nor the WILL to win. It was his to lose, and he lost it.
I hated the SOB but I voted for him anyway. Actually I voted for Sarah. My guess is the vast majority of those you impugn with your sniveling rant did exactly the same.
I hate him and all RINOS and all their bloviating apologists twice as much now.
You sell the home without light bulbs in the light fixtures.
Well, I need to see the legislation written about these supposed home inspections and any fines. I had heard about an energy inspection when you sell your home. That alone is outrageous and will severely hurt the housing market. But coming into my house to check out my energy usage? Come-on - this will be the line in the sand for every home-owner.
We need to know more details and affirm if this is true or not.
Where in the bill does it say this? Anyone got a link to the text? I can’t find this in the House version, this is as close as I can get:
1 (2) STATE CERTIFICATION.Not later than 2
2 years after the date of a certification under sub
3 section (c)(1) or the application of a national energy
4 efficiency building code under subsection (d)(1),
5 each State shall certify that it has
6 (A) achieved compliance with
7 (i) State codes, or, as provided under
8 State law, local codes, with respect to
9 which a certification was accepted by the
10 Secretary under subsection (c)(2)(B); or
11 (ii) the national energy efficiency
12 building code, as applicable; or
13 (B) for any certification submitted within
14 7 years after the date of enactment of the
15 American Clean Energy and Security Act of
16 2009, made significant progress toward achiev
17 ing such compliance.
18 (3) ACHIEVING COMPLIANCE.A State shall
19 be considered to achieve compliance with a code de
20 scribed in paragraph (2)(A) if at least 90 percent of
21 new and substantially renovated building space in
22 that State in the preceding year upon inspection
23 meets the requirements of the code. A certification
24 under paragraph (2) shall include documentation of
25 the rate of compliance based on
1 (A) independent inspections of a random
2 sample of the new and substantially renovated
3 buildings covered by the code in the preceding
4 year; or
5 (B) an alternative method that yields an
6 accurate measure of compliance as determined
7 by the Secretary.

Seems to cover inspection of new or recently renovated buildings by the State to see if it meets the code, IF the state has adopted the federal energy codes.
A non-US Citizen being installed as POTUS
Appointment of umpty-gazillion CZARs to subvert the affirmation process and issue unenacted edicts
The confiscation of a legal US company (Chrysler) by the US Government and awarding 'ownership' to its former employees while simultaneously subverting and aborting US bankruptcy laws.
The Senate confirmation of appointed constitutional officers who are tax cheats
This could go on all day......it's just death by a thousand cuts...and we ARE bleeding - every minute.
I watched Stuart Varney rip a supporter to shreds on FOX yesterday about this
Will this finally get the majority of Americans to realize what the hell they voted for? I can hope.
Or are they too stupid to know who to blame it on? Just give them 24/7 Michael Jackson and they won’t care.
Irrelevant except for getting a foot in the door. When it suits them, they will just replace the technical engineering standards with political(ly correct) engineering standards.
Would that be Obama’s “Civilian National Security Force”?
I predict there will be a boom in job creation for professional arsonists.
Rather than try to sell your house, you just burn it down and collect the insurance (from government owned AIG, I suppose).
All of the smoke from burning houses will do wonders for climate change and the environment.
Zooming way past Canada in the fast lane to socialism
Hey, stupid! If you voted for lousy McCain, you don't belong in the group that said they would prefer Obama over McCain.
Engage brain prior to posting.
You’re missing my point, mushforbrains.
Conservatives didn’t sink McCain, as you and those like you love to whine and insinuate. Period. I’m sick of you and others who claim otherwise, instead of admitting the truth: McCain was a crappy candidate.
“As bad as it was under King George III”
There’s a thought: the obective of repudiating life, liberty and the pursuit of (what was originally property) happiness, along with the Bill of Rights. Maybe even the other amendments. Hadn’t considered those moves, but I am not up on my 3D chess.

Now, don’t you go listening or thinking too hard on July 4th about this. The 5th maybe, but not the 4th.
Bulldozing the neighborhoods/cities is already on the table. Google it.
That’s the idea.
