Mark Kirk Pays to Play

When the debate was raging over Barack Obama's "stimulus program" back in February, one of the most intriguing points in the debate was brought to the table by Congressman Mark Kirk. He brought up the issue of exactly how the government raises its money, and asked the very simple question: Where will it come from? I wrote about this subject after listening to a radio interview with Kirk:

On February 10, 2009, Congressman Mark Kirk appeared on the Roe Conn show on WLS in Chicago. He began expressing this same concern about where we were going to get the money. Kirk mentioned several fairly incredible figures in the interview. First and foremost, the amount of total money we are looking to borrow is six times the amount we've ever borrowed in one year ever before.

Mark Kirk was on that radio interview looking out for the American people, discussing the unfathomable debt to be unleashed upon us by the people who claim to represent us. He went on to vote against the stimulus. Fast forward to the afternoon of June 26, 2009, merely four months later, with the vote for the largest tax increase ever seen ready to take place in the House of Representatives.

Does anyone actually think the brunt of the taxes this bill will raise are actually going to go toward "Green" projects?

Waxman is how they're planning to fund the stimulus debt.

Imagine a politician voting according to his own interests. This should have been brought to an end long ago. And it is up to actual Americans to remove thugs like this from office.

Kirk voted for cap and trade this last Friday.

Bear in mind this measure was carried by a mere 8 votes, with 46 “Blue Dogs” voting against it.

When this vote was being conducted Sean Hannity,who had scheduled a day off,showed up because of the importance of this issue and went on air pushing for phone calls to house members.

One of the guests who came on was Mike Pence from Indiana. What was interesting about that interview was that Hannity pushed Pence to enumberate the Republicans who supported this monstrosity. One of which was Mark Kirk who’s district is Lake county Illinois which lays along the northern shore of Lake Michigan.

Despite being pushed by Hannity to name these “moderates”
Pence retreated into collegiality mode and was very, very,very, reluctant to “target” any of the 7 “moderates” including Bono, and Kirk.

Everyone of those “moderates” come from states with fractured Republican organizations. The shame of it is this piece of legislation isn’t a “social issue” It’s like the CFB’s, even worse. Because it codifies a falacious scientific assumption, and uses that excuse to enforce, through excessive taxation, a highly questionable administration policy . It has nothing to do with abortion, or “gay” marriage.

For these individuals or the GOP party House leadership to equivocate under the guise of “collegiality” begs a response. When the entire issue of the administration’s energy policies should be questioned including the misrepresentation and concealment of scientific evidence to the contrary the GOP House leadership does a waltz.

Everyone of these individuals who supported this legislation should face stiff challenges in upcomming 2010 primary

I’ve listened to him on Don and Roma of WLS in Chicago. He made sense and he was their darling.

Has anyone heard from him as to WHY he would vote for such a bill...esp when they railroaded 300 pages of amendments at 3am?

Rep. Kirk is my congressman, and I haven’t heard why he voted for that bill. I emailed Don & Roma, about three times, and I asked them to ask Kirk why he’s a Republican, although he’s pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control, pro-spending increases, pro-illegal alien, and anti-Iraq surge. I don’t think they asked him.

I listened to them many times with him on there. You would think he was Mr. Conservative and their little darling.
