Enough of the Fluff already! Give me the real News.

was saddened to hear that both Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died, but I am extremely maddened by the amount of coverage that MSM and even our "reliable" conservative networks are giving to them in light of the serious events which transpired this week.

One of the most serious events was the fact that Harold Koh was confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday June 24th as the State Department's Legal Advisor. His transnationalist views promote blending international and domestic law. Indeed, this is particularly scary knowing that he believes traditional sovereignty is obsolete. What are all those people thinking in the senate who voted for him at a 62-35 vote?

The other important event was the fact that on Friday, the United Nations adopted a 16-page document on the World Financial and Economic Crisis and Its Impact on Development. Not only will it require the U.S. to give .7 GDP to foreign aid, it may demand 845b of U.S. citizens taxpayer dollars to achieve their Millilium Development goals.

Both of these events will seriously impact America in the near future and it is journalism's duty to inform the American public what this could mean to our country. Did we hear about these events? Did you?

For their lack of coverage and puffy bytes they DID allow ... I'd hope FOX would tumble in ratings.

I used to have satalite TV specifically for FOX and C-SPAN.

I found C-SPAN on the net for free and FOX no longer matters.

TV free since June of '09

Yep, Fox News has jumped the shark with their stupid non stop coverage of Michael Jackson's, aka celebrated pedophile’s, death.

Which is greater? FOX News segments on Jackson or articles and posts at FR on Jackson?

America is becoming like M. Jackson. Self inflicted, misguided, drugged up and out of touch with reality.

Like it or not Foxnews is a business and ratings mean business, that is how they stay ahead.

The coverage of Jacko on FR has died down.

CNN has been covering the passing of the Wacko almost as much as FOX (lots of coverage by that Larry Kingy).

I remember back in 2007 when Paris Hilton was sent to jail then released then sent back in great distress- FOXNEWS seemed to cover the events and especially her final release more than any other cable network.

Tabloid entertainment seems to be reality!

I suppose I’m a strange bird but I can’t see what could possibly be so interesting about that freakish, self-mutilating perv to justify hours and hours of news coverage. What is the audience for that? Silly people who are obsessed with the celeb culture aren’t usually viewers of news channels.

He had millions of fans around the world(which may say something about our world)!

Before JACKO went completely WACKO, he was the number one Pop Star of the World.

As for silly people obsessed with the tabloid FLACKO.
They are watching the news now, especially Fox.

What do you think, what did you think of Foxnews’s massive coverage of Paris Hilton?

Remember her release from jail, her being sent back, that Shep Smith cracking nasty jokes as she was sent back?

The coverage of her release was saturation on FoxNews.
The only exception was on MSNBC when a reporter(if you can call her that) with Scarborough refused to read a script about Paris, and even burned it on air.

Thanks. I would have never thought that.

“What do you think, what did you think of Foxnews’s massive coverage of Paris Hilton?”

Totally ridiculous! I was not interested, not even a passing interest, in Paris Hilton. Got so disgusted with Fox, I turned it off — completely. Would listen to another station for the local weather and news and got the national/world news from FR.

It's getting to the same place with the Jackson coverage. Friday when the largest tax increase in American history was being played out in the House, nothing but Jackson coverage. Again, I turned it off. Again, I came to FR.

I do remember it which is one reason why I am fed up with gossip coverage. I can’t watch Sissy Smith for any reason. Smith covering Hilton is really the pits.

All correct. Which makes him a has-been. Has-beens are not deserving of 3 days of almost non-stop coverage.
