The biblical story of Adam and Eve suggests that Eves disobedience to God introduced sin to the world which ultimately led to the downfall of man and mankind. It is a story repeated over and over again in the Christian arena. Its the first story a child learns which attempts to explain why there is so much suffering in life. It is a story which puts the burden of death, destruction, disobedience, and suffering at the feet of Eve, Adams wife, or as the Biblical writers describes her Adams Helpmeet.
While the story of Adam and Eve is true, according to the biblical writers, it is an unfair and unbalanced story which excludes Adams role in this great epic drama. It is a story which fails to identify the solution which could have saved mankind. Its a story which describes the most common mistake even men of the 21st century make. Its a story which, if Adam had his priorities straight could have had a different ending.

As an aside, in Renaissance Europe, a young priest was sent to a particularly contentious Venetian church, whose penchant for brawling over slight arguments had chased away half a dozen of his predecessors.
With the congregation prepared to turn on him after his first sermon, he carefully chose as his subject “The sins of Eve”. And, somewhat disappointed, that there was nothing in the sermon suitable for a fight, for once, they had a peaceful time of things. Wait until next week.
But then, his sermon was on “The sins of Adam”. Same result. The week after that, he did a new version of “The sins of Eve”, and so on.
For 35 years, until his retirement. Back and forth between Adam and Eve, and what had been a belligerent congregation became peaceful again.
Wut?
Well said.
No one ever mentions whether Eve actually did get the knowledge and wisdom of God. If she did, then Adam didn't stand a chance against her. Besides that, God said she would die if she ate the fruit and she clearly didn't. Did God lie to Adam?
There’s no such thing as a “Helpmeet”. She was a “help” “meet” [archaic, meaning suitable] for him.
“Besides that, God said she would die if she ate the fruit and she clearly didn’t.”
Eve is alive?
Lol.
The Tree of Knowledge was the only tree they were not allowed to eat from.
Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Now that the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil, he must not be allowed to stretch out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.
Prior to eating from the Tree of Knowledge, they had access to the Tree of Life, and would therefore have had eternal life (presumably for as long as he continued to eat of that tree). They (eventually) died by being barred from access to the Tree of Life.
Adam was in authority, Eve was deceived.
It was Adam who 'introduced sin'.
(He should have obeyed God, not Eve. )
Well said.

But wrong. Man wasn't given the authority to rule until after the Fall (See Gen 3). It was part of the judgment on Adam and Eve for their sin.
In addition, the apostle Paul was inpsired by the Holy Spirit to state who God thought was responsible for introducing sin:
1 Timothy 2:14 "And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
It's unecssary and presumptuous to sugarcoat the Word for modern sensitivities.
Thanks for the catch!
The "knowledge" they got was the knowledge of good and evil, what sin is, which they hadn't previously known.

Agreed!
Adam’s mistake.....picked the wrong woman?
He really backed himself against the wall. I am sure whatever he said one week had to be corrected the next week - and on and on and on!
The problem lies in the logical fallacy of: “You’re wrong, so I must be right!”
IOW, it’s like saying “2+3=4” is false, so “3+3=4”!
There’s nothing saying that they both can’t be wrong.
Eve sinned by giving in to the serpent’s word-twisting and violated a clear commandment; then she brought her husband in on it.
Adam, at this point had the choice to either join her, or to abstain and talk to God about it on her behalf. (This is ONE reason that Jesus is called the Second Adam.)
After eating the fruit, which he obviously recognized, he could have thrown himself on God’s mercy admitting wrongdoing: instead he hid, and when ‘found out’ blamed his wife.
The wife, likewise blamed the serpent instead of taking responsibility. (And it is our human heritage that we naturally are averse to responsibility-taking to this day.)
The serpent was looking around and, upon seeing nobody else to blame, said: “Sssssssshit!” (<- Joke)
?
Well, it went all wrong — right here...

Adams concern was not fearing God, but losing his woman. It was a mistake men would make for generations to come. He did not understand that the God who gave him the first Eve would have given him a second, much improved Eve. But he must be willing to let the first Eve go. Adam did not understand that his faithfulness to God - and not his woman - would have saved them both, and eventually mankind from a world of pain and sufferings.

That’s all speculation and you’re ignoring that evil was already in the universe, but just “hidden” at that time. You’re ignoring God’s plan from the beginning. Adam’s sin was part of that plan...
This is bogus speculation, and it’s not something that came from the Bible...
‘spiritual’ death?
