What is it about politicians these days?
Is there some sort of magic elixir in the air that allows these people—regardless of political affiliation--the license to insult the intelligence of their citizens? Or is this some sort of natural “human flaw” that we—the idiots of the proletariat—are supposed to accept as some sort of acceptable characteristic of the people that are supposed to “represent us?”

The governor of a state ditches his security, abdicates his responsibilities, and follows his sexual urges to Argentina. He is either aware, or should be aware, that such an act is the end of his political career. The judgment and lack of self control he exhibited is outrageously bad. And then, upon being caught, he offers up the most self absorbed juvenile explanation imaginable; putting his girlfriend two places in front of his wife and kids in the list of people he's harmed. He has done damage to every cause to purports to advocate and revealed himself to be a slimeball of unprecedented proportions.

What does conservatism have to do with Sanford's love/sex life?
Lemme guess, you trust the individual that lies and cheats? Ya think individuals that exhibit this type of character only lie and cheat on their wives, and are otherwise honorable individuals?

I am for conservative values and a conservative political agenda. But to be a conservative, one needs to walk the talk and stop being a partisan apologist instead of a realist American.
It is time to endorse values and priciples above purely political labels. And if Americans can't do that, it is no wonder that the nation cannot find common ground upon which to tread.
When one dies in battle, from a self inflicted or enemy inflicted wound....you step over them and keep going ahead.

When I watched her at the RNC, I didn’t get a tingle up my up leg like Chrissy Mathews did for Obama, I got a feeling of Pride in my heart.
Obama is like some sorta cheap thrill, Sarah is to the heart of this nation.
I don't know that it did or didn't. That wasn't what you asked. Mr. Franklin was the Bill Gates, Steven Hawking and Thomas Edison (all rolled into one) of his day. The French thought him another DaVinci and the female courtiers treated him like a rock star. I would've been sorely tempted in that situation, myself. How did their harems help ancient rulers do their jobs? Were you aware that most of the Kings of Israel had a harem (including David and Solomon)? Many scientists feel that male humans are "hard-wired" to want multiple partners, whereas females want one only to help them raise offspring. What do you think of that theory?

LOL, dragnet, I think you are in your own little drama, you know damn well no one on FR thinks conservatives should lie and cheat.
I was responding (as you also know from my posts) to the fact that we must all self flagellate over Sanford’s sex life, and vote Democrat or Ron Paul, or Libertarian, or.....not vote at all to punish Republicans for Sanford.
So what is your story? What is your goal here?
Are you agitating for Democrats? Or the others listed above?
That very thought has occurred to me. He was set up.
Hoping to disparage Conservatives/Republicans as a group, with Sanford's and other human beings sins is a political move in itself. There is nothing noble or principled about it, just MSM/DNCish.
