The Republican Paradigms of Integrity and Trust

As Americans had bought into Obama‘s catchy phrases of “Hope“ and “Change“ and “Yes, we can!” that he had used during the election, we are reminded of the Latin phrase “Caveat Emptor,“ which is used widely when talking about consumers. Obama’s poll numbers have slipped this week to 58%, which is the lowest that it’s ever been, and many Democrats seem to be following Obama’s own doctor of 22 years in turning their backs on ObamaCare.

What does all this mean for Republicans and Conservatives alike? The road to defeating Obama in 2012 is still going to be a long one, but it will be so fast-paced that it’ll be here before you know it.

We must be reminded that King Solomon once asked our Lord for wisdom, and it was granted to him. We must be also reminded that our faith in God and our Conservative principles have long been the best tools in defeating the Alinsky principles of manipulating the poor (as demononstrated by his long-time involvement with Acorn, Ayers, and Reverend Wright), and religion (as demonstrated by long-time a Catholic University Notre Dame awarding an Honorary Doctorate to him).

So, where does wisdom lie inside the Republican Party? I believe it is instilled in our Conservative principles and our Conservative base. The proof for this is that McCain would have lost all but three states if he had not chosen Sarah Palin as his running mate. Conservatives don’t exactly reminisce about the distastes in their mouths when it comes to McCain “reaching across the aisle” or Colin Powell voting for Obama.

Our wisdom at these crossroads has brought about Senator Jim DeMint (R – SC) breaking ranks with the Republican Party to endorse the more Conservative candidate Marco Rubio in the Republican primaries over wildly popular Governor Crist, who has a 70% approval rating. But don’t let that approval rating fool you. As Demint’s website states:

“Earlier this year, DeMint told moderate Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania he would back Specter’s conservative GOP primary opponent, Pat Toomey, over Specter in 2010. Five days later, Specter announced he would change his party affiliation to Democrat.”

We must gear ourselves in firmly backing Conservatism in order to win and not lose. That is also why President Ronald Reagan stated in his Farewell Address that “We’ve got to teach history based not on what’s in fashion, but what’s important,” and the paradigms behind this Reagan quote are such that integrity is what brings about trust, and trust is what convinces people to vote Republican. We had gotten away from that in recent years, and we need to go back to it.
