People magazine is reporting ahead of tonight’s “big announcement” on Jon & Kate Plus 8 that Jon and Kate Gosselin filed documents to initiate a legal split this afternoon.
The couple married in 1999, when Jon Gosselin was just 22 years old and Kate was 24. When the Gosselins had their second set of multiples, Discovery Health began filming them as part of a special, which transformed into a TLC series.
Rumors began circulating that the couple was headed for divorce when Jon was spotted out with 23-year-old schoolteacher Deanna Hummel. Though Kate initially stood by her husband, the rumors and constant media attention soon got to be too much.

The few shows I saw she acted like a real shrew at times and he was well, lackluster as a husband.
The real victims will be the children and they will suffer for being famous and even used by their parents ... for what it got them.

I have a different take on it. I think she is for the most part a great mom. She tries to do fun educational activities with ALL EIGHT of her children. She is strict and regimented but I think I would be too if I had a squad of children to take care of. Children need structure and rules, she seems like a loving and religious mother. I think if the father had her personality everyone would think he was just great. Can you all imagine what it takes to keep that house up and running while caring for all those kids? I wouldn’t want to be in her situation, millions of dollars or not.
