We had to go to Target the other day with Mrs. Sic and dammit if a bunch of Barack Obama propaganda wasn’t staring us in the face at every turn … in practically every aisle.
Seriously, there were Barack Obama DVD’s, Barack Obama books, Barack Obama commemorative coins, pins and plates and - get this - two friggin’ Barack Obama children’s books.
No really … one of them was called “Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope.”
In fact, for every age group there was at least one book or video devoted to “The One.”
Seriously, in the “youth books” aisle Obama was right next to Star Wars. Star Wars!
Unreal.
Hitlerian, in fact.
Hell, we half expected to see Barack Obama’s smiling mug staring back at us on the friggin’ lawn furniture cushions we bought, or the backside of Mrs. Sic’s unmentionables.
Our only consolation?
“The One” must not be selling as hot as he was a few weeks ago because most of the “Obamaganda” we saw was on markdown.
Not necessarily Hitlerian, but definitely fascist and proto-totalitarian.
I refuse to take part in the cult of personality.
I would not have spent dime one in that store.

I wonder if this is what 0 is doing instead of “presidenting,” working out merchandising deals, and how much they stand to receive in royalties, if any.

Like all rock stars trouble with bootleggers and unauthorized knockoffs is common. I must admit up here in Canada the crap is much less but still more than I want to see. A t shirt in a mall kiosk did catch my eye the other day up here because of what it did with the letters of Obama. Obama ran vertically and shirt said One Born in Africa to Manage America. First time I had seen something saying the guy was not born in Hawaii.
I saw a similar Obama shrine today at an AFB Exchange, of all places!

This was still a worship type t shirt with his image on it etc. I guess up here its not a big deal to the O bots if he was born elsewhere.
I saw that stupid children’s book at Target, too. As I turned the pages, it literally made me nauseated. What parent or teacher would actually read that book to a child? Complete indoctrination.

I saw that book at Target and turned it around so you couldn’t see the cover. I do that sometimes with magazines with his cover, too. It is a small thing but it brings me a tiny twinge of rebellious pleasure.
I was shopping with a fellow conservative and snuck a copy of Bill Clinton’s “My Life” into her cart.
I didn’t quite expect the magnitude of the reaction.
I do that, too, and I always feel like I’m shoplifting or something. I’ve been meaning to get a little sign and take it into Target and put it on one of those books:
OBAMA IS NOT SPECIAL
HE IS A MARXIST
THIS BOOK IS GARBAGE
May the farce be with you.
It will all become landfill material.
I'd not give them my $$$, unless I couldn't find it elsewhere.
