Thanks Dave for assuring us that the questionable joke that you told was not the hearers fault. And thanks for admitting that the fault was all your own!

Don Imus formerly of MSNBC Imus in the Morning, could tell Dave Letterman a thing or two about calling women Hos. Imus lost his job when he called Black women on the Rutgers University women’s basketball team “Nappyheaded Hos.”

(Dead)Letterhead’s so-called ‘apology’ acknowledged that it was a flawed joke that wasn’t all that funny.

So, why’d you go ahead and tell it if you knew that beforehand, Dave?? If it were a crappy joke about, say, the Hildebeast and Chelsea, would you have gone ahead and told it, or would you have exercised some of your executive producer/editorial discretion and rejected the “joke”?

Ya see, Dave, your so-called apology raises more questions about your judgement and whether you should continue to be allowed to be on the air.

I agree the apology was as insulting as the joke!

Nicole Sandler and a guest explained on her radio show a few days ago that because Willow is a minor, the rape joke was referring to statutory rape which isn’t necessarily forced. So because it wasn’t a forced rape joke, it must have been consensual which isn’t as serious. She thinks Willow would like being raped by A-Rod.

I've been trying to find the Air America transcripts. Her guest was some called Lisa Derrick. Her website at radioornot.com describes the interview as:

"In our second hour tonight, we'll lighten up the mood a bit, and take a look at political humor. Did David Letterman go too far with his joke about Sarah Palin's daughter? Is there a line in political humor, and when is it crossed? Lisa Derrick, who writes the La Figa blog at Firedoglake.com will be my guest, as she also holds court online in a live chat. Talk about multi-tasking!!"

They also got into Rush calling Chelsea a dog 15 years ago. They didn't need to go back this far to find examples of insults. Their Dear Leader recently called Palin a pig.

Our emails and calls DO make a difference for some companies!
Letterman apologized cause we forced the issue...go freepers!

Here is the email response I got today after I had written the company that sells Hellman’s mayonaise how disgusted I was about Letterman and how sad that I could no long buy my favorite mayonnaise.....

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your disappointment with the program content which contained a commercial for a Unilever product. We never wish to offend anyone and your opinions are appreciated regarding this subject matter. Advertising for Hellmann’s or media buys are done months in advance and unfortunately we can’t foresee issues in the media before they come up. We appreciate the feedback from our consumers and we’ve decided to pull our online ads from the Letterman show from our advertising schedule moving forward.
We hope that this information has given you a better understanding of our advertising practices. Thank you again for taking the time to share your views with us. You can be assured that your comments will be considered as we continue to challenge our perceptions about what is appropriate for us in today’s environment.

Kind regards,
Your friends at Hellmann’s/Best Foods

I am running out right now and stocking up on Hellman’s!!
