In response to a letter from Ken McCay of the RNC calling ABC to task for basically whoring their "news" department out to the Obama administration's socialized healthcare juggernaut, ABC senior VP Kerry Smith tries to stak e out some common ground:
I hope we can all agree that a robust debate of health care issues and potential policies is in order.Everybody can agree except ABC it seems. Note the message circled in red at the bottom of their entry:
Alright, since making the image big enough to actually READ is apparently beyond the Jawa Report's technology, you can go here to view a larger version. The circled portion reads, "The comments to this entry are closed." Sheesh, kinda ruins the whole comic-irony thingie I had going there, like when Cris Angel showed everyone exactly how to do the toothpick trick...
I agree we need no debate.
Socialism bad.
Capitalism and free market good.
Boycott ABC advertisers.
They are beginning to border on the ridiculous in their pandering to BO, and have already passed the marker for hilarious.
We don’t need ABC. Ignore ‘em.
I wil. Who are they?
Maybe Letterman could move his show over to ABC, host it from the White House.
Even better, stop watching ABC. It’s not like they have any good shows anyway.
But what about “Wipeout?”
I think that is available on-line.
Just sent my own little note to ABC News via their website:
“It is bad enough that your news room has openly been a parting to taking dictation from the White House and transcribing the administration’s daily talking points by starting each day with Gibbs, Stephanopoulis and Carville phone conferencing to make sure they’re all on the same page; that enough merits the ABC acronym being changed to “Administration’s Broadcasting Company”.
But to move into the White House lock, stock and barrel, refuse to allow any commentary dissenting from the party line (which is true despite your VP’s denial - that denial conveniently overlooked your refusal of the RNC’s request for access to allow for discussion of issues other than the DNC’s) - you shed ANY remnant of credibility that you may actually be a “news” organization. Your abandonment of your role as the fourth estate is why you and the other dinosaur media are on the fast track to extinction.
Good-bye and good riddance”.
