Uhhhh....this is weird. When I click on the link. The page comes up but blinks every few seconds and then a box comes up and says "page cannot be displayed, operation aborted."

Coincidence? Or has this happened to anyone else?

If Obama wanted to, could the U.S. position a satellite to help the Iranian people get information out of the country? One Twitter I read said that if Obama acknowledges Ahmadiwhatever, their’s is a lost cause.

There were accounts on Twitter last night that the military were going around searching homes that had satellite dishes. ‘Change’ you can believe in.

The students and unhappy people in Iran are waiting and praying for President Obama NOT to accept the results of this election.

Will he?

Will he dare to stand for free elections and free people?

I get the error message, but it doesn’t interfere with reading the content of the site. It’s a web programming error. Don’t worry — nothing sinister, just a software screwup.

No, he is the sycophant of our enemy. He makes choices, there must follow consequences.

Worse — he is Ahmanutjob’s accomplice.

>> any I.T. guys** know why it only works for some people?

My guess is, it doesn’t have anything to do with the hotairpundit site itself, but rather, with some ad content selectively served to some viewers* but not others — that’s why it seems to be an intermittent problem.

* based on referrer, geographical location, or some other criteria known only to the eeevil Web ad placement services.

He’s not a coward.

He’s not afraid of us, is he?

He’s just evil.

I typically lag behind technology a couple of years...so this will be a stupid question to most (but if you don’t ask, you don’t know).

Is Twitter able to be transmitted thru sat dishes?

I guess I assumed it was an internet thing.

I was wondering the same thing. Some ‘techies’ on here will probably know. As for instance..yesterday, when I was watching things unfold...and the Iranian gov was cutting off communication....Tweets (be they slow as mud) were able to get thru.

I really haven't been watching the situation. When you have access to the wired network routers, you can do pretty much anything you want. It's really a matter of the skills of nut job's techies.

Thanks for your reply.

I hope you are right and a few techies are able to explain the Twitter technology.

Twitter is totally an internet thing. And of course, the internet can be carried through satellite dishes. It's not the best way to access the internet — latency is excessively long, for instance — but it has the advantage of your not needing to be near cable or fiber or even telephone. And in the case of Iran, a further advantage: your ISP can be well outside Iran and thus not subject to the mullahs' thugs. So, I can certainly understand why they are going after satellite dishes!

Easy enough to do and very likely. Military grade satellites are harder to jam but inside Iran the jammer can be very close to the BBC transmitters and that considerably helps the jamming to be effective. (The US military would directly address any such jamming efforts.)
