The running joke [me - it's a real knee slapper] in Washington is that nobody has read the 900-plus-page energy bill sponsored by Reps. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), which the House will consider in coming weeks. . . . In fact, the bill also contains regulations on everything from light bulb standards to the specs on hot tubs, and it will reshape America's economy in dozens of ways that many don't realize.
Here is just one: The bill would give the federal government power over local building codes.

I still can’t believe that idiot Waxman is in charge of anything. I doubt he can even wipe his own *** without instructions.

"The way to have safe government is not to trust it all to the one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to everyone exactly the functions in which he is competent....To let the National Government be entrusted with the defense of the nation, and it's foreign and federal relations..... The State Governments with the Civil Rights, Laws, Police and administration of what concerns the State generally. The Counties with the local concerns, and each ward direct the interests within itself. It is by dividing and subdividing these Republics from the great national one down through all it's subordinations until it ends in the administration of everyman's farm by himself, by placing under everyone what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the best." Thomas Jefferson

Oh you have to be kidding me, this is not going to happen, is it? To answer your question, you bet it will. Waxman is insane and a total a@@. While in Kalifornia he always tried to look intelligent but only appealed to a real sick poor group of Americans that moved him up. Probably to get him out of LA City Council but were so stupid didn't realize what this nitwit could do as a Fed.

This is another crock of crap cooked up by Algore. The Global Warming was a hoax conjured up to sell carbon credits. Who is the only one certified to sell carbon credits...yes, that is right,,,Algore. Now comes this cap and trade. It is the tax on carbon credits. Who is certified to trade the credits? None other than Algore.....
Why are our elected officials buying into this crap?

and local building codes in traditional Democrat cities are stuffed full of stuff intended mainly to uphold union employment (such as requiring soldered copper plumbing and banning the use of PVC pipe) So I presume that will be the case everywhere now.

To save a lot of time searching THOMAS here's the Bill number:
H. R. 2454 and is
932 pages long! (why don't reporters put the friggen Bill Number in the article they're writing about?) I downloaded it and opened it and skimmed through it to see exactly where Waxman is getting *his* authority to shove this fascist pos bill down our throats. Not surprisingly I couldn't find any reference to the Constitution or even their favorite fall-back, the Commerce Clause. (it may be there somewhere)
And there's numerous mentions of us 'Users' and what will happen to anyone who doesn't comply. This 'thing' may as well have been written by Hitler or Stalin.
In any case this thing is unconstitutional. For one it violates States Rights (and ours) under the 10th Amendment.

The CO2 in soda and beer is a problem, too. There’s a significant amount in every can/bottle.
