Can These Really be General Petraeus’ Words?
Freedom's Cost ^ | 06/02/2009 | Chaim

Through an admixture of military strategy, politics and diplomacy General Petraeus managed to do what none of his predecessors was capable of. When the scholarly general took over command of coalition troops in Iraq, the situation on the ground was chaotic. By the time he left, many former enemies had forged an alliance with the Iraqi and coalition forces. His accomplishment are many, his intellectual acumen is uncommon.

[...]General Petraeus, indeed, has a distinguished career filled with admirable accomplishements I have no doubt he will continue to serve this country with honor and class. Because of all the above I find it astonishing that the following naive words, if true, could have come out of the great General’s mouth as reported in Lebanon’s Daily Star:

“Hizbullah’s justifications for existence will become void if the Palestinian cause is resolved. Reaching an agreement over a peace process in the Middle East will eliminate several groups’ justifications for existence,” he explained. Petraeus added that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will pave the way for Arabs and Muslims to help the US in its war against terrorism.

He is right, which is why no matter what, nothing will ever be good enough. Like Arafat walking away from the table when the Israelis gave him what he asked for, like Arafat re-starting the intifada when he was offered what he said he wanted, they dare not accept any agreement. And they won't.

I don’t see a problem with what he said. The issue is that it is difficult to see how a fair peace can be achieved based on the current two state model when the Palestinians won’t agree to recognize the existence of the State of Israel as a Jewish state within secure borders.

" .. they dare not accept any agreement. And they won't."

Seems to be the psychology of the entire Middle East with the exception of Israel.

All they want is war, blood and conquest.

I used to wonder how anti-Christ could get an entire planet to worship him. Now I think I have it figured out ...

It's true, in the end.. the meek shall inherit the earth, but for now, the satanists are populating it.

Many thought - and hoped that Hitler would be pacified after his initial demands were gained. The conflict is a spiritual one, and in Christ the two can find peace, but America itself is at war with the Almighty, to it’s own ruin.
