Sarah Palin will visit Long Island for fundraiser

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is coming to Long Island on Sunday to address a fundraising dinner in St. James hosted by an agency for the developmentally disabled.

Palin, who rocketed to fame last summer when Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) picked her to be his vice presidential running mate, will speak to and be honored at the $125-a-plate dinner of Independent Group Home Living, her spokeswoman confirmed yesterday.

Palin's 1-year-old son, Trig, was born with Down syndrome. Palin declared herself an advocate for developmentally disabled children during her September speech to the Republican National Convention.

"We wanted to honor her as a mother who has a special-needs child, to try and bring as much exposure as we could for families who do have these special-needs children," said Frank Lombardi of the IGHL Foundation.

Ha! Some who have seen her and her family up close would disagree with you. I heard rave reviews.

Only a few hundred responses. Not what I’d call a high-traffic website.

Down Syndrome children bring a special blessing to the families they are born into. They are sweet, loving, and totally innocent. I have no doubt that God has a special place in Heaven for parents who raise these children with love, knowing just how blessed they are.

I pray that He will provide Sarah Palin with an inpenetratble shield of protection from the rabid press during her coming trip.

Saturday, June 6th, Palin is scheduled to appear in Auburn, N.Y. as part of the city's Founder's Day celebration. as the city celebrates the 50th annivesary of Alaskan statehood because of Auburn native William Seward's connection to the state. Seward organized the purchase of the land that became the state when he was U.S. secretary of state for President Abraham Lincoln.

Palin will be a guest speaker at a noon ceremony in front of Auburn's city hall following a morning parade. In the afternoon, she will be a guest of honor at a fundraising event for the Seward House.

[I wonder what those that criticize her look like?]

Quite awhile back when the Fashion Police threads started I once posted a comment about everyone should post a picture of themselves. I hate meanness for meanness sake. Naturally I received no replies.

After that, one woman even removed a link on her profile page that led to a Photobucket picture of her, lolol.

Yesterday I saw some man post pretty much what I had said, I meant to go back and bump the post but lost the thread.

$125 dollars a plate is rare rare rare in modern US politics, Gov Palin is doing what she can do, and to be honest, to me she has not scent of hippocracry about her appearance in Long Island.

They are haters with a low self-esteem, so I can guess. Personally, I love her. She is way more together than me, in much better shape, and a great speaker, so I guess my self-esteem must be better than I thought!

I also love having her as an advocate for the disabled community. (My son has autism.)
