Roster Series Part 3: Quarterbacks
By now Ive heard it all. Tony Romo chokes in big games. Tony Romo makes too many costly mistakes with his Favre-esque style of play. Tony Romo doesnt care about winning in the NFL. And the most outrageous of all to me Romo-friendly means scaling back the offense and making it simpler in order to hide his shortcomings as an NFL quarterback.
Wow, Really ?
Heres my rundown on the 2009 Quarterback roster of the Dallas Cowboys:
Starter Tony Romo. There are some people on the internet who truly did see potential in Tony Romo when he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.

Fussball cometh soon....but in the meantime...how ‘bout them Rangers!!
Don’t you know how much it hurts a resident of kansas city when you talk about quarterbacks
Your parents are correct.
It’s not just last year though. In fact last year was his smaller dropoff in December. He’s just not that good in the games that matter most. By December things are generally more about execution than scheme, there’s lots of tape and only so much you can design in a play, you’ve either got players doing their job or you don’t. And Romo generally isn’t.
Dallas is going to suck worse then usual come December. The longer the season goes the worse Romo gets — he has made some real bonehead moves and I mean bonehead for someone who is the starting quarterback for the Cowboys who I used to root for but not any more.
If Dallas does as bad as some say, Sam Bradford may be wearing the Star, and I will be back rooting for the Cowboys. For now I am rooting for AD and the other Sooners that play for Minneapolis or Tommy Harris and the Sooners that play for the Bears.
Do us all a favor PKM. The real fans don’t need fair weather people like yourself. Go root for another team and stick with it, if you can’t be loyal to this one.
Don’t be too hard on Red. After all, look what he had to work with last year. Between devastating injuries to key personnel and the Me-Oh fiasco, plus the fact that Romo and Williams never had time to get on the same page, it was a coordinator’s nightmare. Plus, if the offense was so easy to figure out as the Ravens said, then why did we score 24 points on their #1 defense ?
I went through the Cowboys seasons when they only won one game but frankly I don’t care for what I see on the field this year. Their drafts have been bust for sometime except for an occasional player. I am not rooting for them because I think they are not going to do well — I am not rooting for them because of the dumb moves of the owner in bringing in players and releasing other players.
The coach is not the coach — Jerry Jones is the owner and coach it seems. His drafts are pathetic to be kind. Have been a long time Dallas fan going back to when the only sweatshirt you could get had the big star. So don’t tell me I am a fair weather fan. If others did the same to Jones, maybe things would change. Not wasting any money on the Cowboys this year. I have had it with the owner and I don’t like Romo especially in December.
Obviously, you get all your Cowboy opinions from ESPN.
Oh and since you’ve supposedly been a fan for a long time, I guess you’re not a fairweather fan, just a turncoat.
TO gone - good (locker room distraction).
Henry gone - good (losing his skills)
Pacman gone - good.
Tank gone - good (locker room cancer).
Roy Williams gone - good (shadow of his former self).
Brad Johnson gone - good (do I really need an explanation here?).
Canty gone - good (we got just as good a player for a lot cheaper).
Sensabaugh here - good (he can cover unlike RW).
Olshansky here - good (as good as Canty only cheaper).
Brookings here - good (improvement over Thomas).
Kitna as backup - good (he's a solid guy who still has an arm)
So what personnel issues do you have ?????????
And as for the draft, what issue do you have with last year's draft - any ? Or how about this year's ? Are you a good enough talent evaluator to tell how well these young guys are going to be doing 3 years from now ? Or are you just living in the past and wanting to hate on the best owner in the NFL.
