Dallas Cowboys NFL Team Column By Russell Easley

Roster Series Part 3: Quarterbacks
By now Ive heard it all. Tony Romo chokes in big games. Tony Romo makes too many costly mistakes with his Favre-esque style of play. Tony Romo doesnt care about winning in the NFL. And the most outrageous of all to me Romo-friendly means scaling back the offense and making it simpler in order to hide his shortcomings as an NFL quarterback.
Wow, Really ?
Heres my rundown on the 2009 Quarterback roster of the Dallas Cowboys:
Starter Tony Romo. There are some people on the internet who truly did see potential in Tony Romo when he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.

This part of the team is definitely good to go. Yes, they are ready to go.
Go 13 years without winning a playoff game.

Was Jerry Jones really on the ‘64 Arkansas National Championship team as an o-lineman? That’s some trivia I could use on the college football thread.

As a Giants fan I love watching the cowboys fade into oblivion. They had a shot with the team Parcells put together, but blew it. They’ll finish 4th in the division this year. The NFC champ will be either the Eagles of the Giants.

Wow that is some trivia. My parents hated Janis Joplin, they always thought “she couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket”.

If you're a better than average QB people are always going to say "you can't win the big games" until you win big games. And then they'll say "you can't win the Superbowl" until you win a Superbowl.
For ex: Peyton Manning, Steve Young, Elway, Eli, etc.
Note they never said anything about Trent Dilfer because he sucks so bad nobody cares if he won a Superbowl.

Yeah, but Romo really sucks in December, his completion percentage drops about 10 points, his TD-INT ratio inverts, and his QB rating drops about 40 points. http://www.nfl.com/players/tonyromo/gamesplits?id=ROM787981&season=2007 In general I agree the who “can’t win the big game” thing is just so much hype, but Romo’s splits show a real difficulty when the games matter the most, he just might be the exception that makes the rule.
