Postponing his own lucrative summer work on the North Slope oil fields, Todd does the bulk of the childcare for now, while Bristol also hits the gym and tanning. "My dad lets me go tanning quite a bit."

Tanning or sun tanning? I hope she is not spending hours in a tanning salon bed. She and her dad should both know this is terrible for her long term health.

So is the 6 month Alaskan night.

I didn’t realize conservative ideas included turning your back on family when they make a mistake. If you are referring to Benjamin Franklyn, it was the (bastard) son that would have nothing to do with the father when the father turned rebel.

..and I guess you missed that part about "go and sin no more."

Tell me again how helping one's daugher raise her child, instead of casting her out into the street to fend for herself, is sinning.

You're a sick puppy if that is your sense of morality.

It's about their whole embodied definition of family life. Bristol said abstinence was not realistic, then realistic. Bristol joined an advocacy group that has honored Jane Fonda. Bristol said she was going to marry, then said she wasn't.

If Sarah, Governor Sarah, simply said, "I want to make it clear that a child deserves a mom AND a dad and I hope a Dad comes into the life of my grandchild soon--that would, maybe, go a long way to the whole People Magazine and Levi circus.

God said He came not to bring "peace" to families--but a "sword." A family can certainly help a wayward mother, but they have to admit, publicly, that the child is wayward. Wayward moms used to go off to an aunt's house to have the baby--instead of sticking around for a tupperware baby shower nationally televised. There has been really bad judgment all the way around here, and the fact that you can't see it only emphasizes how shallow conservative values really are. There was a time in America where you tracked down a boy who fathered a bastard and you basically put him into economic servitude to the township until he married. Can we really say we're better off now--letting teenagers couple and then part?

which one does she read, and how do you know? I read the King James Version, and sometimes the Today’s English Version. Are those the “right” Bibles? I just want to make sure.

Nor do you. It seems to me a good Christian would not spend their time gossiping and maligning other people. I think this woman needs to spend more time on bettering herself and maybe she will be less bitter.

Wayward moms used to go off to an aunt's house to have the baby--

Or slunk off to another state to have it aborted. Instead, the Palins said Bristol made a mistake and are now helping raise the child. Imagine that - being concerned first and foremost about the welfare of the baby - instead of being an ass like yourself who is more concerned about image over substance.

There was a time in America where you tracked down a boy who fathered a bastard and you basically put him into economic servitude to the township until he married.

So, tell us again how it is the fault of the Palins that shotgun marriages are out of fashion?

How many times must I forgive my brother?

You, too, are a sinner, whose only hope is the unmerited mercy of Jesus Christ. That’s worth remembering. Maybe you know that, but it certainly doesn’t come across in your discourse, and those are the only fruits we have to go on.

“Debbie will never be appreciated on this forum because she reads the wrong bible.”

I could not care less what bible anyone reads or if they read one at all. That is an issue every person must decide on their own. I’ll also say that D.S. has been very good in reporting on creeping Islamicism. However, she’s got a horrendeous case of PDS.

Certainly, we’re all sinners, but, as St. Paul tells us, we don’t “sin that grace may abound.” We are supposed to GROW in Christ; we are supposed to “provoke” each other to good works. (Hebrews 10). The failure of the church to take New Testament living seriously is directly related to the number of unwed mothers we have as a culture, and as a nation. It does seem like a VERY unpopular sermon, to be sure.

How old is Bristol? 18? She has gone thru a lot in the next year so I will not judge her flip flopping as anything more than the folly of youth. She needs to mature and has to understand responsibilities better. It will take time.

If Sarah, Governor Sarah, simply said, "I want to make it clear that a child deserves a mom AND a dad and I hope a Dad comes into the life of my grandchild soon--that would, maybe, go a long way to the whole People Magazine and Levi circus.

She has already implied this when she stated Bristol would be getting married to dummy. But that didn't work out and I wouldn't force my adult child to marry anyone that was not responsible. Dummy has shown he is not responsible. He doesn't contribute any support to the fruit of his loins.

..by not bringing them back into fashion. Leaders lead, they don't bow to "fashion."

We are supposed to GROW in Christ; we are supposed to “provoke” each other to good works. (Hebrews 10)

And yet you condemn Bristol for changing her views toward the correct ones, namely promoting abstinence and not marrying someone who is not a responsible father.

I don't get your beef here.

Your mercy is selective. Bristol is guilty of the “folly of youth,” but Levi is a dummy who is not responsible. Wouldn’t you say they are BOTH not responsible in not getting married—and wouldn’t you think the Governor might make that clear? “If you have a baby, get married.” That sort of thing?

How old is this "Boy" and "Girl" here? You have fallen for the MSM trap of speaking like these are 13 year old kids here.
