WAKE UP CONGRESS!!! California NO Vote is Just The Start
Contra costa times/the lid ^ | 5/20/09 | The Lid

On April 15th somewhere around one million Americans protested big government, they demanded that government spend less and tax less. These grass roots protests where laughed at by the present administration, the democratic party and the liberal mainstream media. The protesters were not bi-partisan, they were non partisan. Their target was not one party or another, it was government in general national and local. In the month since the tea parties government has continued to ignore the will of the people, or governments have continued to spend money like drunken sailors and the media has continued its assault on the protesters, calling them racists etc.

Yesterday, the people of California took another shot across the bow of big government. They refused to accept higher taxes and sent the legislature back to make cuts. The rest of the country better wake up and smell the pork, because yesterday's vote on the west coast is another indication of voter anger, the tea party revolt will only grow here. More below:

Sen. Leland Yee, D-S.F.:

“When voters are confused and not clear about what they’re voting, they vote no. If you read the ballot statements, it was difficult to understand what it all meant. So, voters are saying, ‘Don’t ask us to do your job.”

WE ARE NOT CONFUSED!

Yep! And The Øne has only been in office for five-six months. This is only the very beginning. The communists have already over-reached, there is no pulling back from that by them now. To make matters worse, the delusional communists’ are planning MUCH more anti-Americanism in "their" government.

Assemblyman Paul Fong, D-Mountain View:

“I was hoping they’d pass. It would make our job easier. Now we have to go back and think of new, creative ways to solve the budget.”

You really can’t make this stuff up...this is a real quote from a dedicated public servant...

I always enjoy when a big state with a liberal reputation bucks the trend. There's something very refreshing and hopeful about it. I would like to see New York reject taxes too. On a cautionary note however, I would warn about reading too much into this, California's politics are fickle. We had very low turnout yesterday, which is always good for conservatives - those who don't know what they're talking about stay home. Low turnout and cross-party unanimity on many of these issues made the difference. But, it's also undoubtedly true that Republicans and conservatives had a little fire in their bellies; a desire to send a message - and that is good news.

*GASP!* No! Not thinking, problem solving, and logic! How can we be so cruel as to demand that politicians use a little of those non-spinable items?

There seems to be a stirring among the tax paying producers. This may be the start of “what needs to be done.”

Come to DC on the 4th of July! Bring your friends and family! Get yourself a Gadsden Flag and whoop and holler! Tell everyone! Fill the city with so many people the line goes to Joe Biden’s house! Then take the train in!

+++++++++++++++

RIGHT!

And Leland should have said, ‘when voters realize that their legislators are confused, do not read huge porkulus bills, and are unclear about what *they’re* voting for - these voters become ENRAGED and vote NO.’ We’ll also say to them - we don’t TRUST you to do your job - you’ve proven untrustworthy and now we’re going to take that job away from you and give it to someone who is trustworthy.

And if we’ll do that more and more and with enough force - we can take this country back to the track of integrity and responsibility to the people!

As an encouragement, there are hundreds and hundreds of Tea Parties planned for July 4th - as well as the weekend before and after the 4th! Get involved at your local Tea Party. Write a letter to the editor or call in to one of the local radio stations about the Tea Party in your locale or organize and provide logistics or go to your local capital and support the group there. BE ENCOURAGED that this is going VIRAL. We must continue, as they cannot eventually ignore us:
