"...do not grow weary in doing good" 2 Thes. 3:13. Is anyone else weary these days?

Posted on 05/17/2009 5:37:48 PM PDT by texaschick

I just get so tired of seeing pro-choice, socialists spewing their agenda all over the nation and I wonder how God could allow these people to be in control at this time. I tend to view Democrats as wanting the opposite of what God wants. This verse helps to confirm that what I believe in in regards to the social issues of our day are "good" and I should not compromise my principles, as Obama would have me do, in regards to abortion. Doing good is not always the easy road. His ways are not my ways and His timing is not my timing.

I became politically active in 1963, and I’ve been tired many times, but I can’t give up.

Yes.

I pray for God to give you and all honest believers, the strength to look to our Lord in all things.

I find I keep remembering the verse, “As far as it lies with you, be at peace with all men.” The unbelievers do not have peace, and will get MORE unpeaceful, but we can be at peace with a clear conscience.

“”I pray for God to give you and all honest believers, the strength to look to our Lord in all things.””

We also have to remember Romans 13:1 - pretty difficult to accept but we have to.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

I have a liberal sister who thought this was very important in the days of Clinton but not so much in the days of GWB. Typical liberal.

I am very saddened. Not weary, though that comes in waves. I have faith in God, but am not sure that we haven’t pushed the limits of His grace too far. So, you do right even if the stars fall and trust His sovereign will, even if it means judgment for this nation. Our judgment may be the thing that saves us - or not. He is just, and that should terrify America.

That is true.

Even Christ did not question the authority that Pilate had to kill Him.
Even Christ did not try to overthrow Roman rule.
We will be like our master and Lord, and follow Him and His example.

The time for the destruction of Satan and his plans is getting closer.

Maranatha!!

When I get upset at zero and his lemmings, God reminds me to read Psalms 37. That says it all!

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.

A few inspirational verses for everyone:

Psalm 119:133 “Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.”
(Iniquity=gross injustice,wickedness,wicked act,or sin.)

Job 2:10 “Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?”

Psalm 119:33 “Teach me O Lord, the way of Thy statutes, and I shall keep them unto the end.”

Psalm 119:3 “Rejecting compromise with evil, and walking only in His paths.”

Psalm 119:117 “Bless me with life, so that I can continue to obey You.”

Hebrews 3:13 “But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called Today.”

Psalm 90:15 “Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good.”

Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

This one’s for Nancy Pelosi.
Proverbs 12:22 “Lying lips are an abomination to The Lord, but they that deal truly are His delight.”

Luke 22:42 “No my will, but Thine, be done.”

John 8:36 “If The Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

If just one of these is special to anyone who read it, that is wonderful! Freep On, Christian Soldiers!

I wholeheartedly agree. The evil ones have a lot of power right now. Stand still and wait patiently for the Lord. He is in control. Watch what happens next. In the meantime, it is VERY important for folks to get back to following God’s will closely and that might involve looking in the Bible. If not, the horrific consequences will come upon on us. If we turn back to God, we (all of us including me) can save ourselves.

Oh, and then there's this passage that so many seem to miss:

LUK 18:2 saying, "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God, and did not respect man.
LUK 18:3 "And there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'
LUK 18:4 "And for a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
LUK 18:5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, lest by continually coming she wear me out.' "
LUK 18:6 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said;
LUK 18:7 now shall not God bring about justice for His elect, who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
LUK 18:8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

The most concern of any passage in the scripture I have ever read is the last one....when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth? I am beginning to wonder.....

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Yes. I’ve been quite weary since 2006.

Mainly because I constantly see those that are supposed to be conservative Republicans revealing themselves at socialists...

...and then seeing supposed conservative voters telling everyone that we have to vote for our socialists(R) because they’re not quite as socialist as the other socialists(D).
