Seriously, congrats on the book.

... Longstreet was right when he counseled leaving the battlefield after Day 1.Newt Gingrich and another guy (whose name escapes me right now) wrote a trilogy examining what might have happened had Gen'l Lee listened to "Pete" Longstreet. It is a pretty good read!

Interesting! Congratulations!

My first. And I spent the better of three years learning how to write a novel.

I read the book. William Fortchen (sp?) was the co-author and a Professor of History.
IMHO, they did a mediocre-to-good copy of “Killer Angels” by Michael Shaara. I highly recommend that book and the later movie “Gettysburg” which is incredibly true to the book.

Just read the excerpts. It’s good! Wow, another talented freeper author! You folks should have a convention sometime.

Read Harry Turtledoves’s book “The Guns of The South”.
I don’t much like most of his (overly elaborative) alternative history. This one is a classic.

Or JEB Stuart had not been late to Gettysburg or Little Round Top had been overrun.

DC was very strongly defended. Are you willing to give us some idea of where?

Congratulations!
Now, if the Germans hadn't ever bombed Pearl Harbor... ;-)

I’ve read “Killer Angels” and watched “Gettysburg” (several times each!), and I concur with your analysis.

Mine is grounded more in reality than Mr. Turtledove’s wonderful book.
