Vader’s actual quote has tons of impact because Luke had just said with great passion “He (Obi Wan) told me you killed my father!” (Although I am sure I misremembered the exact words.)
In any event, “Luke, I am your father” would not have been as strong. as “No, I am your father!”
> Marlon Brando never said, Im gonna make him an offer he cant refuse.
Actually, he did. MB just used ‘couldn’t’ instead of ‘can’t’. I had to watch Godfather again on my PC (as an avi), FF’d to that scene and he did state that line.
I believe the author was being funny.
The author needs to do his homework: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4KRDVsSsKE#t=00m42s
Two lines that immediately come to mind, and I’m sure you can name the films:
“Jim, he’s dead”
“Yes, I’m serious...and don’t call me Shirley”
It’s satire. The author was being funny.
Can you picture the Godfather saying, “Unpleasantness...”?
Name the actor or the movie:
“Things look different from higher up.”
There’s only one Bob Hope. I only wish we had more of them.
We’ve been watching old Danny Thomas shows on DVD, which includes an episode with Bob Hope.
I’m clueless.
Or John Wayne saying, “Great jolly Moses, what are you doing in my clogs?”?
Although this article, whatever, is a bit...well, not really funny.
Carl Sagan never said: ‘billions and billions’ either
Humor is in the ear of the beholder. :^)
Cheers!
Thanks for playing. Maybe someone else will get it.
And beauty is in the hand of the beer holder.
Cheers!
Humor. Like the funny kind. Only different.
(((chuckling)))
I missed that whole part of the the movie! I had our baby at the movies with me, and he started fussing, so I took him out so as not to disturb the other patrons. My sister and her kids came out of the theater all a-twitter and spilled the beans!
