Soros Lawyer Rosa Brooks Working in the Pentagon (said Al Qaida an obscure unthreatening group)

Rosa Brooks, a radical, anti-American academic who shares Michael Moore‘s dissenting views on the War on Terror and the Islamo-fascist threat, has been installed by President Barack Obama as advisor to Michelle Flournoy, the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy.

Brooks is particularly dangerous as a key Pentagon employee because she believes there is no real terrorist threat to the United States and is in a position to have an impact on U.S. national security policy.

As the Washington Times recently editorialized, by appointing Brooks to the Pentagon post, President Obama “is surrendering national security.” Putting Brooks in a Department of Defense policy office “is like Lyndon Johnson making Jane Fonda a senior adviser on Vietnam.”

At least in tone, the work of Brooks, a former special counsel to the president at George Soros‘s Open Society Institute, bears more than a passing resemblance to that of radical feminist Catharine MacKinnon, another left-wing law professor. Like MacKinnon, an anti-pornography crusader, Brooks is openly contemptuous of the First Amendment, which guarantees press freedoms. Brooks favors a government takeover of media outlets funded by taxpayer dollars.

In a 2006 Los Angeles Times column, Brooks, who is now on leave from her teaching job at Georgetown University Law School, described President George W. Bush as the nation’s “torturer-in-chief.” Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney “should be treated like psychotics who need treatment,” Brooks wrote in 2007. Two weeks before Election Day 2008, Brooks opined that the Republican Party was the bastion of “paranoid, rage-driven, xenophobic nuts.”

Brooks has also written that al Qaeda was “little more than an obscure group of extremist thugs” that "did not pose an imminent mortal threat to the nation.” U.S. policies transformed the terrorist group into “the vast global threat the [Bush] administration imagined it to be in 2001.”

Wait a tick:

USS COLE
Iranian Hostages
First Attempt at producing Ground Zero
Marines Baracks

Oh yeah, and did not one of our destroyers in the Gulf shoot down a “innocent” Iranian jet that would not veer off course when repeatibly warned back then...Oh, our bad...

Somalia

Lots of heads removed from bodies.

Paris riots.

Bush and Cheney are AMAZING!!!!

This will either turn out very good, or very bad, and the jury is still out. If Obama’s radical agenda does not get enacted, and we survive this onslaught, he will have effectively eliminated radical candidates from the landscape, for at least awhile. He will have provided every Republican and conservative candidate with talking points and proof of the left's radical agenda. Every candidate they put forth will have to either align themselves with him and this agenda, and thus be associated with a failed radical administration, or distance themselves from him and apologize for him, which will hurt quite a bit with their base.

On the other hand.. if he gets these things implemented, it may be the start of social unrest on a scary scale..

Her articles uses to appear in the LA Times. She is a lock-step, loony leftist. Next I’ll hear that Cheech and Chong are heading the DEA.

Maybe she's right. Maybe Al Qaida is an obscure unthreatening group that is no danger to anyone Obama cares about.

They only threaten our sailors (USS Cole):

our Marines (Beirut):

our working people (WTC I and II):

and our families (Flight 93, crashed in Pennsylvania):

She's right. No one Obama cares about is in danger from al Qauda, it's only ordinary patriotic Americans that the terrorists kill.

1. She was affiliated with George Soros’ Open Society Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations.

2. During the Clinton years, she advised Harold Koh in his previous position at the State Department.

3. In her farewell (for now) column, she advocates for a “government bailout of journalism” (link). In addition to various subsidies, she wants to “[use] tax dollars and [grant] licenses in ways that encourage robust and independent reporting and commentary”. Anyone who’s older than five knows just how narrowly she’d define “robust”. For instance, Lou Dobbs probably wouldn’t make the cut, not to mention many others.

4. In June 2007, she offered “How immigrants improve the curve” (link). Discussing all the things wrong with it would take too long, but the first thing wrong is her contention that Americans are fat and lazy and that the only solution is giving us (them from her perspective) the competition of bringing in immigrants, whether legal or not.

The second thing wrong with that column is much more troubling and hopefully she’ll be called on it one of these days:

And when it comes to illegal immigrants, just getting here takes astounding courage. Illegal immigrants endure astonishing privation and risk - just for the chance to improve their lot by doing the backbreaking work so few native-born Americans have the inclination to do

Will Durant, The Story of Phiosophy

“The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex order and freedom can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without and multiplying from within.”

MA, this quote from your profile page says a lot...
