There is much discussion as to whether the GOP should forget Reagan and move on so as to attract centrist voters. Of course, Democrats are gleefully fueling such talk. After all, they dont have the GOPs best interests at heart. Why would they? They want their party to win, despite their claims of having a healthy two-party system being in the best interest of the nation.
Sure, by all means lets forget the man who won a 49 state landslide. Lets abandon the conservative Republican principles he espoused pro-tax cuts, pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment that Democrats were forced to mimic in House and Senate races in order to win seats in 2006 and 2008 so they could gain a congressional majority.
When Republicans move to the center, particularly with their presidential candidates, they tend to lose. Bush 41 was elected in 1988 on Reagans coattails, essentially promising a third Reagan term. After breaking his no new taxes pledge and rebuking the Reagan years in favor of a kinder, gentler approach, he lost in 1992. Bob Dole, ever the pragmatic moderate and never a conservative, lost in 1996.

2 RINO Bushes are enough!!!!
Jeb can Kiss My Arse!!!
lets Forget Jeb Bush!!!!!
enough with these Moderate Fake Republicans!!!
PURGE the Party!!! of these Rats....Tell them to Follow Specter’s slime trail out the door.....
· By all means, lets have the conservative movement
leave Reagan behind
and invent some sappy, empty phrases like Hope and Change
that the ACORN morons can get a grip on and theyll flock to the GOP.
Here are some that might work:
WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS IS MORE BUSH!
A CHICKEN IN EVERY POT.
2 CARS IN EVERY GARAGE.
A FREE LATE-TERM ABORTION FOR EVERY UNWANTED PREGNANCY.
A GAY BABY-SITTER OR TEACHER FOR EVERY CHILD.
FREE MONEY FOR EVERYONE.
DEFICITS ARE OUR FRIEND.
MORE LIKE THE DEMOCRATS THAN THE DEMOCRATS.
WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS IS MORE MUSLIMS.
KISS A TYRANT KICK AN ALLY.
A FREE ILLEGAL HISPANIC HOUSEBOY IN EVERY HOME.
Yeah, thats the ticket. Lets hurl ALL the traditional and time-tested values on which America became, in under 2 centuries, that shining city on a hill, a beacon of freedom and a world leader over the side to appeal to the ravening masses of MTV, VHI, government school indoctrinated imbiciles that ACORN inticed to the polls with a pack of smokes and a pint of Ripple.
Sounds like a HELL OF A PLAN TO ME!!!
Feel free to add YOUR suggestions.
I disagree - purge the party LEADERS - the RINO whiners will either adapt to their lessened status or depart on their own accord.
The center will get you nowhere against the whack left in charge. The Republican Party needs to confront these nutjobs head on with the message of less taxes, more states rights, less government spending. We all know Obama’s plan of throwing taxpayer money at everything will end in disaster. I think it will be easy to start beating them up very soon! They are doing big things alright and doing them massively wrong! People are not going to crawl out of their bed in the morning just to go to a job where 50 to 60 percent of your check is going to go to the government! Someone in the republican party should start hammering this stuff home!
ATTACK! ATTACK ATTACK! To hell with socialism! It never worked anywhere else in the world! Who in their right mind thinks that all American taxpayers are going to suddenly go extreme left? OBAMA HAS NO MANDATE TO DO THIS!

What does this mean “GOP should forget The Bushes, Doles and McCains”? The media picks the candidates for them. With help from the Democrat strategists, of course.
Moving to the center is DEFEAT,,,
No. Conservatives should NEVER forget what the GOP has foisted on us through open primaries, etc.
And, withhold contributions until RINOs are censured, primaries are all closed, and a conservative platform is published. And no more crippled old men (harsh, I know, but true).
