For those who don’t know — or couldn’t guess from the article — Tim Ziegler is a FReeper. And a man well worth knowing.

When talking about capitalism and other economic systems, it should be pointed out that capitalism is the only *natural* economic system, all others, despite various arguments, are contrivances, which, with their failure, require a return to the natural way of economics.

I wish it werern’t so long. I think the point could’ve been made with less verbiage. I got the point a quarter of the way thru, but it was worth it to read the conclusion. Good article.

The article is not THAT long....and is well worth reading every word. Tnanks for posting it.

The Shrew is also a very generous man. As "Bahama Mama" I organized the famous freeper fund-raising Caribbean cruises. Tim was always there with donations of gift packages of exotic spices for us to use as table prizes.

Kudos to one of our own who exemplifies the American entrepeneurial spirit.

Chris,

Thank you for the article and your extremely kind appraisal. I have been so swamped with work and teaching classes this week I haven't had the time to thank you and all the Freepers for the very kind comments.

Kindest regards,

TS

Why defend capitalism, which is the thesis to Karl Marxis’ communist anti-thesis? We see it played out to the detriment of the free world, with the enrichment of chinese communists by the global ‘capitalists’.

Why doesn’t any one defend free enterprise, the cornerstone of a free economy? Free enterrpise = free economy. Capitalism as it it playing out today = slavery and corporatist fascism in the American government.

Oh, because most people have drunk the kool-aid. They don’t know that words mean things anymore.
