I estimate at least 10K people there. Both sides of two city blocks, so crowded you couldn't walk through in some spots. And thousands of cars driving by and honking their horns, drivers cheering in support! The media ignored it, but anyone within a few blocks could hear it just fine.

great shots.....city has grown...when I got there in 67 tallest blds were the church you show and the Telco central office
Great pictures...thanks for posting...looks to me like there could be 10K people...both sides of the sidewalk as far as you can see...thank you Ft. Lauderdale!
I wish there were more wide angle shots. It was pretty impressive (and LOUD), especially when you consider that it went on for three hours and people came and went. I was only there for an hour myself, I had appointments to make.
slight disclaimer- I am not a professional crowd size estimator. But I did make an effort to do a rough estimate.
I’m sure the news helicopters (yes, there were news helicopters, but I don’t think they reported any of it) know exactly how big the crowd was. So do the cops.
FANTASTIC!
And I liked the sign that said. “What are you drinking?”.... then it had a pic of a teabag and a pic of a pitcher of coolade. I’ll keep that one in mind for later use.
Yeah, that was a good one!
Were you there?
I’ll buy 10000.....
Thanks for the great pics !!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like everyone had fun.
