Credit where credit is due...thank you, Governor Perry.

(now KEEP IT UP!)

Governor Goodhair is still a douche bag. He's just running for president.

sounds like Chet Edwards.. another faux conservative that is a big government asshat.

Look at what they do, not what they say.

If Governor Perry wants to REALLY set Texas apart and go "ALL IN" then he should go to the legislature and cut corporate taxes to ZERO, add .01 cent for gallon of gas and .01 per cell phone as an offset and watch corporations and JOBS flood into Texas.

THEN I'll believe that he's a conservative. Remember he's the one that was going to FORCE our girls to get a vaccine that was financially "connected" to his family. Also don't forget the toll road to hell that he wanted in order to get financing from a Spanish toll operator.

Always watch what they do and forget the hanging red meat scraps he throws our way.

Even though I'd love it, Texas will never be allowed to secede from the US. No matter how much the TOTUS and the democrat party screws the pooch.

KBH needs to stay at home and raise those two kids she adopted a few years ago. I guess she thinks they are “pets”..why else would a 60 yr old women adopt kids at that age? BTW..for all you folks outside of Texas, most folks think, Perry has done a pretty good job contrary to what you might see here on FR.

I guess you feel that Sarah Palin ought to be staying home too.

My guess is that is partially what she is trying to do. Get elected Gov., come back to Texas and do the meet/greet thing around the state while the Legislature isn’t in session every other year.

But this thread isn’t about the blessed one Palin. There are several threads each day to discuss her and her activities.

I agree, it’s not a thread about Palin but it was a put down IMO to women in general. I’ll not be voting for Kay either but not because she has kids.

“Perry is not fit to stand in the shadows of the great Sam Houston. That said, I’ll vote for him over KBH.”

Exactly. Both Perry and KBH can be RINOs, but Perry has a few very conservative points: for example, Perry is very pro second amendment. He has actively supported every major issue important to the Texas State Rifle Association.

Unfortunately, I predict that KBH will win, and the next governor after her will be a democrat.

With the influx of illegal aliens I'm afraid you might be right. Unfortunately Perry has been weak on border issues and it just might cost him his job.

Dont bet on it - Perry has been ahead of the game so to speak on her on several key opportunities now. She’s in a reactive state not proactive. Texans dont repond well to a back bencher. And no I’m not a huge RP fan but I’ll take him as governor any day over KBH

Interesting observation/prediction. To some degree you maybe correct in that Texas seems to be shifting to the left every so often. Now the state House is only one/two representatives away from being controlled by the democrats [currently 76-74 Republican]. The state Senate is still solidly Republican but we’ll see how this all works out after the 2010 census reorganization.

I need to amend my previous post. Sorry.

Sam Houston

There. Fixed it.

Temporarily forgot the History of Texas and how it came to be the Lone Star State.

Maybe so; what do I know.

They are both all over the State. Right now, I do not think three or more Republican grandmothers can meet up at La Madeline for lunch without KBH or Perry showing up to give a speech.

LOL.......... Tom’s not going to give up the high rolling lobbying/consulting job he’s got up in D.C. for the lowly governorship of Texas. The sad thing for Tom is he still has some of that Ronnie Earl indictments hanging over his head and if they do go to trial he’s got to keep chasing big money for the lawyers he’ll need.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on all points.

If Texas can secede, I am willing to have Perry and even as far as KBH.
