The New York Times LOVES to make the USA look like weaklings... just like their Messiah does.

Not a limit of power but a limit of WILL.

Let’s be clear. We don’t lack capability. We lack will.

The latter is more important than the former.

Did they forget that the Americans sailors have the ship? The navy is there. We just have to wait and see how this ends, but the captain is an danger of not just the rat pirates, but they may not have water or food. The navy needs to get this moving. As much as freepers like to call the French names, they did go in and get back 4 of 5 of their citizens.

Well thanks NYT, you framed exactly what terrorists and pirates may be contemplating right now.

They can put that article on the first page of their bible.

Yes, NYT, America has returned to the weak, wishy-washy, apology and retreat days of the Carter administration—exactly where you wanted it to be. Even two-bit pirates in rubber boats hold us hostage now.

It shows Obama's weakness, that's all.

For the first time since Jimmy Dhimmi Carter, I am ashamed of my country.

Cheers!

Why not send a seal team over to drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the boat and when it sinks save the American.

Our power is limited only by the backbone of the person sitting in the Oval Office. Right now, we’re screwed. The wus should have had ROE (Rules Of Engagement) in-place for our military handling the pirates that basically said “You get a shot, you take those thieving, murdering pirates out.” Obviously the ROE are something that are holding the Navy back. That comes from the top.

Given that we now have a candy-assed, communist Kenyan in the white house, I think that they may be on to something. A proper response to the actions of pirates would be “shoot to kill”, not “the world is coming together to arrest the criminals”.

It seems as if zerO is at the intersection of the failures of the last two democrat presidents. It is shaping up to be a combination of Clinton’s failure in Somalia (which OBL used to inspire the attacks on the US) and Carters failed attempt to rescue the Iranian hostages. HOPE he makes a CHANGE from the failed democrat policies of the past.

The New York Traitor-times won a Pulitzer for covering up Stalin’s mass murder of the Ukrainians by forced starvation.

Let’s not kid ourselves. These waterborne terrorists are already “martyrs” across the globe.

Patience and negotiating and standing off serve THEIR goals, not ours.

Give them four hours to release the American, or blow them into non existence. Then, move on to the German ship, and do the same.

Put out a press release stating we acted in accordance with the law of the high seas, and will do so in each and every instance that follows. The world, at this delicate time, cannot and will not be held hostage by terrorists who attack unarmed, defenseless, merchant seaman, helpless on the high sea.

When foreigners and the UN complain, tell them if they don’t want us protecting international commerce in the future, they need to come up with a plan to stop it, or else we go into default protection mode.

How many more examples of American weakness do we need to give them, that which only entices them into attacking us more.

Once again, 0bama votes PRES__ENT.

a booming pirate economy

Unbelievable.

I cannot tell you how much I would love to see the Sulzberger family take a sailing vacation in the western Indian Ocean.
