The Associated Press reports that President Barack Obama is following in the footprints of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush when it comes to making the White House more eco-friendly ...

AP cites a recent TV interview in which Obama said “he's one of those people who tiptoes around and turns off lights at night” and that he wants to “show the American people that it's not that hard" to conserve energy. Here’s something else Obama could do: Use his power ring to freeze the thermostat in the Oval Office at no higher than 68o in the winter and no lower than 72 o in the summer.

Everywhere I’ve ever worked it was supposed to be 76 in the summer. But, I guess while I’m paying for him to run all over the country I can pay for him to freeze the WH (not that I have a choice).

Well, Washington DC is very, very humid and places like AZ are very, very hot (been to both places in the summer) and the extra four degrees of coolness makes a huge difference.

But he wants the Oval Office to be 72 in the winter and 68 in the summer (instead of the other way around, like the rest of us) - after lecturing us during the campaign that it’s bad for the environment if we are comfortable in our own homes. He should take his own medicine.

So is Texas but the rule is still 76 in government run offices.

Good point. I guess in the private quarters he can get it a bit cooler but he still should not go below 72 since he wants the rest of us to swelter for the sake of the environment.
