During the presidential campaign you stole the Republican's Issue. The stump speech given by your campaign (and the future TOTUS) kept talking about the over-spending of President Bush and the Republican congress. Your platform was about fiscal responsibility and cutting taxes (to 95% of the country).

That argument was very popular in taxpayer land. It was also the argument that the GOP has used successfully for years. What gave Obama's argument legitimacy was that republican's talked that game but acted differently.

In less than 70 days since he took office the POTUS/TOTUS has proven to be an "uber" tax and spend Democrat, and as a result he has handed the GOP back its "issue." The question now is will the GOP return to its lower taxes/fis

I hope this has been a lesson for the GOP. Taxing and spending is the Dems game. WE are NO GOOD at that game and every time we try to play, WE LOSE!!

Lower taxes, smaller government and a balanced budget, at all costs!

During the presidential campaign you stole the Republican's Issue

Our Republicans in Washington abandoned the fiscal responsibility issue shortly after President Reagan left town. As a matter of fact, they never embraced the idea like Reagan did. By the time GWB took office, they had all become addicted to spending and borrowing record amounts.

I have faith that the GOP will, as true gentlemen, give the Tax Cuts issue back to Socialists. The RINOs in charge are too dim to realize that Congress is not SUPPOSED to be the Ultimate Hog Trough.

Obama “gave back” the fiscal responsibility issue!!????

Give me a break. The moron repubs abrogated any credibility on that issue! F them. We need a constitutional party that knows the definition of enumerated powers.

The goal posts have moved. A lot. W and his congresses ran 2 to 4 hundred billion dollar annual deficits. When you compare that to multi trillion dollar deficits it looks way better in retrospect.

It will only be an issue if one of those steel-spined republicans crawls out from under his desk long enough to mention it!

Well, when Bush was spending like a drunken sailor, and Dems pointed it out, all Republicans could say was, “Dems would be worse.” Now we know how much worse—a lot!
