and the people still sit silent as they watch Obamanation grow in unbridled power.
Geithner Asks Congress for even Broader Power to Seize private Firms as the average American stumbles through their daily routine as if nothing is happening.

The American people would never trade personal freedom for the false promise of federally redistributed free-stuff under some ill-fated socialist experiment, unless they were first threatened with a soup line existence.
And so it shall be

With their backs against the wall, confused by a daily diet of media manipulated headlines aimed at scaring the public into submission, convinced that our nations complex woes demand a solution far too complicated for the average peasant to comprehend, the people find themselves in a state of terminal paralysis.

The America I found when I landed on these shores 47 years ago has long since disappeared.
I find the subject of this article particularly interesting given a comment I received from an article I wrote:

Apparently, I should shut my mouth and join the silent masses who completely rely upon others to do their talking for them.
Is that what we should be doing? We DO have “professional” talkers after all, who are presumably FAR more “eloquent” and “insightful” and “original” in their work.
Or should everyone with a voice be using it?
Thanks for the info, I’ll be sure to catch it.
I like Palin more. She hasn't had to compromise her principles yet for political expediency. Hopefully, she won't have to. It's what we need going forward.
But, I can certainly answer it for me:
Because it's the right thing to do.
Romans 51 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Matthew 5
43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren[i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors[j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
You've got to be more creative in your thinking, fellow patriot!
Conservative Americans are getting off their butts all over this country and attending the tea parties, which by the way, are growing in strength, frequency, and numbers, by the month.
There's a massive march planned for Washington DC this September. There will likely be a million-plus angry people demanding that our government stop the insanity at that protest.
Find the the next tea party in your area and attend it. Carry a big sign and make a noise. Get some family or neighbors to join you. Make yourself heard.
Understand that the time has already passed for affecting Washington through written communications to your reps. They've completely stopped listening to us.
For now, we can still win this peacefully, if enough of us get in the street and scream at the top of our lungs about it. But time is running short. The Socialists are taking more from us, and at a faster pace than our reactions to their treasons.
We've got to step up the pace, and soon, or we will find ourselves at the next level of this fight. I don't think I need to spell out what that means.
I understand about tea parties and marching etc. People seem to be calling for something entirely different.
That "something different" is the next level of protest, should we fail to get the government to heel with these peaceful protests.
