Obama Received a $101,332 Bonus from AIG

1 Comment Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.
The A.I.G. Financial Products affiliate of A.I.G. gave out $136,928, the most of any AIG affiliate, in the 2008 cycle. I would note that A.I.G.s financial products division is the unit that wrote trillions of dollars worth of credit-default swaps and misjudged the risk.
The Washington Post reports a mob effect at A.I.G financial products division:

The Dems are giving tons of ammo but nobody will use it. We should be painting them as the Party of Corruption every day but we're too nice. Maybe Boehner will issue another press release. /s
And they'll put the blame on Cheney and have David Frum demand an investigation.
Obama, Congress knew about AIG bonuses for months (Obama continues the lies)

Hopey changey!
“We are the change we have been hoping for.”
What are these losers guilty of?
Regardless, these pictures would make a hell of a T-shirt...
I just love class warfare.

Honestly, I don’t know why the heck contributions from COMPANIES/CORPORATIONS are even allowed! It seems like that would be a direct conflict of interest in ALL cases. The OWNERS, personally contributing — sure... But, contributions that are given under a corporation name should be outlawed. (Note: I am not talking about “Payment in Kind” type contributions - just cash contributions...).
The other thing that’s rather disturbing - individuals are limited to several thousand dollars of contributions during an election cycle to any given candidate... How is it that these corporations can give over $100,000 to ANY campaign???
Corporations are not allowed to cast a vote as a corporation, and “they” shouldn’t be allowed to contribute to ANY campaigns as one either.
This has bothered me for a long time, but I’ve never looked into all the laws - it just seems common sense that it shouldn’t be allowed... Is there something I’m missing here?
This ought to be on Rush today! LMAO
Are we supposed to believe that mere $100k is enough for bho to have pushed this bill?
Clear conflict of interest. No wonder they got their humongous undeserved bonuses.
I'm more partial to Senator Grassley's idea...
