I suppose any word can be said in a derogatory manner, but, as others already have noted, the word in question is the same as/ derived from the German adjective “schwartz”+ suffix. It’s being used as a noun here and simply means “one who is black.” Is “black” now racist?

I suppose it depends on context.

If I showed up at a party and was greeted with “Hey white guy!”, and every reference to me was made to “the white guy”; that could be racists without the word “white” being a racially charged term.

Why was pointing out that 0bama is black important to the statement Jackie Mason was saying? If it was relevant then the charge is just stupid. If it was interjected without merit, well then what was the motive for including that descriptive term?
