Michael McLendon shooting in Alabama opens door to gun control crowd?
Conservative Outpost ^

In case you have watched no television whatsoever, there's been a shooting down in Alabama. Specifically, a nut gets upset and goes on a spree and kills at least ten people. Truly awful to be sure. But after seeing so much wall-to-wall coverage of the tragedy, you have to begin to wonder how long it will be before the gun control crowd tries to capitalize on the pain of others and turn it into political leverage.

An Alabama man with an assault weapon burned down his mother's house around her, shot his grandparents, aunt and uncle dead, then killed five other people Tuesday before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.

Coffee County coroner Robert Preachers identified the shooter as Michael McLendon and said he was in his 30s. It was unclear if the mother, Lisa McClendon, who died, had been shot.

Authorities gave no motive for the rampage that claimed victims in several homes in the small towns of Kinston, Samson and Geneva and along the highway connecting them. Two of the dead were a sheriff deputy's wife and 3-month-old child.

You can be sure that there will be calls for a renewal of the old "assault" weapons ban, which Democrats have recently shied away from...as they're skittish about looking weak on the gun issue again, given that their newly enlarged majority is due (at least in part) to moderate, pro-gun Democrats elected in conservative, pro-gun districts and states.

And yet ramages by radical jihadists, DWI sprees by illegal immigration, none of these lead to legislation and enforcement of laws designed to tackle such problems.

I think we should pass a law making murdering people illegal. That will solve all our problems.

If more law abiding citizens had guns, this guy may have been stopped before he killed so many people. This is another example of why people need guns to protect themselves and their neighbors.

What do you want to bet some kind of medication was involved? So-called anti-depressant drugs ought to be outlawed. We need a new movie, “Ritalin Madness”.

That’s because the leaders on our side are to embarassed to say that relaxed gun laws might’ve saved lives.

I dare ANY gun control activist to relate an incident when a GUN- without a human behind it- a GUN, shot anyone. Millions lay on shelves and in cabinets every day without firing at anyone.
What we need to CONTROL is CRIMINALS, INSANE PEOPLE and people who don’t know right from wrong.
Criminals do not-and will not- obey any gun laws. Criminals-duh!
The insane, mentally disturbed, sociopathic, etc shouldn’t be running free in society-period. They can use guns, knives, cars, etc to do harm to others. You don’t ‘control’ the tools, you restrict the users.
Hell-you can kill with your bare hands too, if you are determined-or crazy- enough. Is ‘hand control’ the final answer for a ‘harmless’ society?
The biggest murder in our memory took place on 9-11, Muslims
used a plane.
Do we get rid of planes- or homicidal Muslims?

The gun control nuts come out of the woodwork when ever something like this happens but guns are also responsible for killing many many bad guys too and protection of America’s citizens. Besides cars kill more people than guns every day. But you dont see these moron politicians wanting to ban cars.

Yes. As Emanuel and Clinton would say, “Never waste a serious crisis.”

Read the insane ramblings by some of the Chicago Crime cartel folks on the topix site.

Some of these idiots actually called for the execution of gun owners in the United States.

The real crime is that his victims were unarmed.

If it would save just one life... Just one more law... Do SOMETHING, we MUST do SOMETHING... REASONABLE gun laws...

Recognize the language of future tyrants. We have to be convinced to crawl into their cage. Many will.

In other news, there was a small scuffle in the capitol today as Senator ‘Chuckie’ Schumer and AG Holder scrambled to grab camera time to call for More gun laws that won’t be enforced anyways.....

Another gun problem. Quick round up the usual subjects . . . law abiding citizens . . . and make them criminals so we can prosecute.

I wish there was half as much coverage of instances where guns have saved lives (either by wielding them or shooting a criminal). The NRA’s website keeps a database of these that goes back years and is huge. I think I read somewhere that there are more children that die in pool accidents such as drowning than from a bullet. That being the case, maybe we should outlaw or set severe restrictions on pools. After all, we have no constitutional right to a pool, do we?

There was a shooting at a school in Germany either yesterday or the day before and several people were killed. I’m not sure what the gun laws in Germany are, but I’d bet that they have many gun control laws there than we do.
