Statement from SarahPAC on Governor Palin's selection of Judge Christen
SarahPAC Facebook ^ | March 7, 2009 | SarahPAC - Bob Flint

Gov. Palin is totally pro-life. Always has been. Always will be. She believes in a culture of life from cradle to grave. Her choice for Supreme Court judge was made in accordance with Alaska law. She chose the person most qualified from the names sent to her. The Governor's choice has a record of fairness. That is important as the courts sort out some very thorny issues. Governor Palin's choices were either a liberal or an independent. She went with the independent. And as the following article reflects - this selection process is flawed.

........................

Process of selecting Alaska's judges is clearly flawed

By Bob Flint Catholic Anchor Online

Alaska courts have a long history of removing contentious social and cultural issues from the democratic process. Court rulings have forced private hospitals to perform abortions, ordered gay marriage and benefits, required taxpayer funded abortions and interfered with parents' rights to be involved in the abortion decisions of their minor child.

These court rulings involve the creation of new and novel legal doctrines untethered to our Constitutional history, intent, or even language. The decisions of the public and their elected representatives are ignored, not to mention the rights of individuals to parent their children or perform services or charity without being forced into immoral and abhorrent practices.

The Alaska courts have consistently struck at such basic moral rights as life, family, marriage and conscience, undermining in the process the essential pillars on which society is based.

Tammy Bruce, who is pro-abort, supports Gov Palin. Miss Bruce also has unshakable admiration for Ronald Reagan. So do we now presuppose that Reagan also enabled abortion because some who are pro-abort supported him? Do you not see, Donna, how illogical your claims are? Unless of course, you’re just focused on smearing Sarah Palin, then logic, and truth, are two things that wouldn’t interest you.

Did President Reagan appoint Tammy Bruce to the Alaska Supreme Court?

Shelly, in November, all of us, who consider ourselves progressive, yet at the same time we can be conservative, we’re gonna shatter the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America.

Do you consider yourself a progressive?

I’m not attacking Palin here, but just a warning to Freepers - don’t put all your eggs in the Palin basket. She’s just one possibility for 2012. Remember how excited everyone was for Fred Thompson, and how quickly he fizzled.

Palin is the ultimate outsider. I don't see anyone else having the guts to challenge the corrupt, broken system in Washington.

Well Donna, perhaps you can tell us all why being "progressive" is a bad thing?

Maybe you should give Rush a call (or call Hillary, she's a Feminist that Sarah Palin admires):

Story #10: "Ascendant" Dems Weary of Liberal Label
November 12, 2007

RUSH: From Politico.com today: "Hillary Rodham Clinton was asked this summer if she would describe herself as a 'liberal.' The Democratic front-runner shied away, saying the 'word' -- noticeably not using the word -- has taken on a connotation that 'describes big government.' 'I prefer the word "progressive,"' she said. It has a 'real American meaning.' Then she expanded the term to 'modern progressive,' and, finally, clarified that she was a 'modern American progressive.'

These are heady days for Democrats. The party is favored by almost all measures in the coming presidential contest. But while Democrats are emboldened, they remain wary of the term 'liberal.' Republicans, by contrast, are as unpopular in the polls as they have been for at least 15 years. Nonetheless, the label 'conservative' remains in vogue."

This is a whole story about how liberals don't like the term "liberal," and why not? Because it's accurate! It does mean big government. The way they are today, it means socialist, for crying out loud -- and they're all about protecting their real identities. They're all about shielding who they really are. They're all about making you think that they're people they're not. Why go out and hire all these wordsmiths to help them phrase things, like George Lakoff (rhymes with)? Then Lakoff lost favor, and they went out and found somebody else. We haven't heard much from this guy, either, come to think of it.

How about the posts where I’m called a drunk and a liar?

Being progressive, per e, is something one should aspire to. However, one can coopt the word, as Hillary and other modern liberals have, and distorted it to better fit their agenda.
Words such as 'liberal' are used to describe John Locke and David Hume. Would you give these two men equal status with 'liberals' such as J.K. Galbraith and John Kerry?
One can accurately call Thomas Jefferson a progressive, and also Ronald Reagan. So Sarah Palin, I believe, is in pretty good company.
You, Donna, might be better off if you would concentrate less on the assignment of adjectives, and more on how they are used.

"All that progressives ask or desire is permission--in an era when development, evolution, is a scientific word--to interpret the Constitution according to the Darwinian principle; all they ask is recognition of the fact that a nation is a living thing and not a machine."

Yeap, I remember. However, it seems to me like Thompson was dragged ‘kicking and screaming’ into the primaries and never really had any real intention of winning. I can’t understand how he got there in the first place.

He was the most conservative one that had name recognition.

He made it crystal clear (and I say this as someone who actually supported Thomspon) that he didn't like campaigning, and didn't want to campaign but only after he was already running and when he was in Iowa.

He was dragged in kicking and screaming, because, simply put, there was no real conservative running, it was McCain, Romney, Huck and Rudy, or basically, a moderate, a liberal, a theocratic socialist and another liberal......

He hoped to fill the void, but, between jumping in way to late, and also not really having his heart in it (not to mention, his mother getting ill and passing away after he started), he wound up destroying any shot.

All my eggs are in the Palin basket!

Hey CNN has what they call damning video of Sarah in a Alaska Church prior to going into politics. She is totally pro life, anybody that suggests she is not, is being dishonest.

This was not aimed at anyone in particular
