You must be about 21 years old. Nope, Mazda was Mazda WAY, WAY before Ford came into the picture and THAT’S when I had mine. Sheesh.

Why are you so angry? I lost 48 percent of everything I’ve worked for these past 30 years and it sure wasn’t because of any union or the UAW. I blame the college educated greedy execs in a number of companies. They are the TRUE scum.

I agree with you....

Here is another story for you. Silly, and scarcely related.

Last Summer, some GM reps came to my place of employment. They had some really nice looking vehicles, including a couple of hybrids. I really was impressed by those new cars.

They had a catered barbecue, big tent, great reps, and the food was excellent. Nice job all around.

I filled out some surveys indicating that I was interested in their 2009 product line.

A few weeks later, I received some new car brochures with great pictures of the latest lines. The brochures were entirely in Spanish. I threw them away.

That is incompetence. It is endemic.

Alas poor GM, I knew her well.

Nope full up 5.9L....the 4BT is easy if you can find a proper one. The wiring harness from painless and trans and rear end from an older insurance totaled 05 dodge.

It fits with very minor mods. May be 120 pounds heavier than the Aussie Diesel in the land of oz versions of same year and make etc ..... Watched 3 or 4 of em done on web sites and then bought a guys book on his woes and throes when he did his.

It works ! ir it WILL Work !......:o)

I am sorry for your loss but what are you talking about? Diversified portfolio of stocks, GM stock or what?

Greedy execs- those are Dem Party talking points. Look at a chart of the Dow or S&P. It started going down in may 2008 when Hillary had the nomination stolen from her by ACORN thugs at the caucuses. I loathe the Clintons but the market though IO was far far worse.

Investors losses are caused by:
1. CRA lawsuits for not lending mtg money to the poor credit risks - thank Obama but it is pure Cloward-Piven.
2. Fannie and freddie protected by Barney Frank, Dodd and the Congressional black caucus.
3. All politicians including Bush plus mostly Dems saying all Americans should own their own home. I agree is they put down at least 10 to 15% down with no teaser rate 1% ARMs.
4. Soros and his hedge fund short pals Flowers and John Paulson.
5. Obama winning. Capital fled because Obama is a marxist.

I’ll start buying when they stop building crap, actually make the car in the US and offer comparable warranties.

Me, my father and uncles only bought American sedans for decades and most of us just stopped.

The quality coming out of “Detroit” today is laughable. I’m an engineer with manufacturing experience and I find flaws on their cars that are embarrassing.

Uh...now will you break every thing that's stock Rover from the trans input shaft all the way out to the hubs?

Otherwise, it should be able to go right straight up.

To but a Mazda way way back was a bit foolish don’t you think?

You had Honda, Toyota and Datsun (Nissan) to choose from and you bought a Mazda?

Was Yugo your second choice?

No, I'm old.

A Ranger and a Mazda B2300 are virtually the same vehicle. I think the Probe is a Mazda platform too.

I seriously doubt Ford designed any of those high performance OHC engines they use.

They feel they have given "concession after concession" over the last twenty years.

Much like the "palestinians."

You are right, not all UAW members are brainwashed. I didn’t say they ALL were. Just the ones they keep putting in front of the cameras.

Sounds like a really fun project.

I gotta get something in my garage soon.

Even though it’s not really “Classic” I’d love to Restore a Silver and black 78 Z-28 to match my old car when i was 18.
She was a complete beauty till that night when i hit the brakes, wacked a curb and went through some guys fence.
Car still looked awesome. Underneath, not so awesome.
ugh.

Maybe a 69 firebird or a cutlass.
i dunno.
The classics are getting realllly expensive.
I had a sort-of mint 80 Z-28 that i sold for frigging 500 bucks back then, now they’re going for thousands.
well selling that Z helped pay for the insurance on my brand new 87 Supra Turbo so at the time i wasn’t complaining.
Now that Supra, That was a Sweeeeet car.
I miss it.

Hey GM... 16k for your compact base model???? Yea, right...

You raise the price over last year by thousands because you think oh, gas prices are higher, people will pay more for the EXACT same car for no other reason than gas prices are high and the car gets ok gas mileage.... GET SERIOUS!

You have managed and executed yourself into BK, a BK that was long overdue.

The AUTO and FINANCIAL BAILOUTS were nothing more than throwing good money after bad... There is NO SUCH THING as too big to fail!!! All they have done is burn more money and dragged on the mess even longer. LET AIG GO BK, LET GM GO BK! If the gubment wants to be their lender during the BK fine, but the idea that we would just give these folks money for nothing thinking it would save them from BK was STUPID!!

BK is the only hope GM has of surviving the Fauxbama pillage and burn attack on the US economy.

Off subject
Ok I've had a few beers.
I read in a car and driver at the time that the 87 Supra would pull 149 MPH and yes i tested it a more than a few times from my many late night drive home from U-Lowell here in MA way back when.
RT. 3 at 3am, 149 MPH sustained, floored in 5th gear for miles on the dot.

Very scary, One twitch of the wheel and i’m done.
I'm lucky i never got pulled over or died or killed somebody.
Sure got home quicker though. :)
Car and driver was right.
I loved that car, Pure luxury and sport.

It was a fast car at 232 HP.
It's hard to believe that Camry's etc have even more HP nowadays.
