Earlier today, I was parked at the Highland Lakes (Vernon, NJ) post office, picking up my mail. My new bumper sticker (following) was prominently displayed:
When I came out and headed to my car, a woman in a nearby car, seeing that I was the owner of the "offending" bumper sticker, said to me: "Yay, President Obama. I voted for him." Real mousy voice, and a mousy looking woman; she looked to me like someone who was smoking dope every night, 25 years ago.
Knowing what a waste of time and effort it is to try to educate morons, I simply replied: "I'm sorry to hear that" and got in my car and drove away.
Sounds right, sometimes things slow down enough to see an Obama sticker right next to a pro-life sticker...(yes on the same vehicle, on the same bumper) making me wish things had just stayed too fast for me to notice!
Actually, on the paranoia bit, I have an iron-clad case.
My response was to kevinm1 and I simply copied you because you were connected to his comments. If you, like he, really believe you need to fear an IRS audit because of the type of bumper sticker you have on your car then it is definitely heavy meds and therapy time for both of you.
As far as lack of backbone goes, be offended or not. I call em as I see em.
I don't. I never wrote that I did.
> As far as lack of backbone goes, be offended or not
Didn't say I was offended, simply that you have no basis. And you don't. Fare thee well.
I don't. I never wrote that I did.
You took umbrage to my comments on being paranoid did you not? I posted that fearing an IRS audit because of your bumper sticker, which is what kevinm1 said was his fear, was paranoid.
If you did not feel the same way then you did not need to respond as the comment was intended for kevin1 who made the IRS comment. Fear over the IRS because of a bumper sticker is being paranoid. As for your opinion on my opinion - you have no basis to refute my conclusions. None. I have evidence presented to me by you and others on this issue (here and in numerous related discussions over the years)and I conclude that a lack of intestinal fortitude is an ingredient in this cake.
You can call it prudence. I call it fear or lack of courage. We can agree to disagree. The fact remains that the main motivation for refusing to put a bumper stick on ones car, in this case, is trepidation over the consequences - those consequences being cosmetic damage to a thing of depreciating value even in pristine condition. That consequence being, in my experience, an extremely rare possibility.
Now, THAT is good. Seems like the stickers on this thread just get better and better with every replies!
I’m thinking that I might just risk plagiarising yours though. I almost did on the last couple of posts.
I think you can get a magnetic bumper sticker sized “sheet” where you can glue on a flimsy paper bumper sticker on it. That way you have no mess on your bumper when the world begins to, hopefully, be rid of the current batch of “leaders”.
"I'm done with THIS guy"
I didn’t think there were any Obamalamadingdong supporters in Sussex County. Most people up there work for a living. Now down here in communist Hudson......that’s a different story.
If I had that sticker on my car, I’d probably get arrested for assault, as I would be bashing the liberal faggot’s head that was trying to remove my sticker from my car with their keys.
I’d bet that someone would try to take it off your car.
yea...there are morons all over....there are just a little less of them up here...not by much though.
